At first, I thought it was gonna be another blind/eyeless monster from the list of monsters they shown us thus far. Glad the "face" is just its horns. As for flagship, maybe, but I'm kinda glad they're holding off from revealing the actual flagship this time to add to the mystery of Wilds.

Same, tbh I'm not a big fan of that kind of design, they almost resemble tremors from the movies and I don't think it's a BAD design, I just don't like it that much and I think it doesn't fit monster hunter that well. That's why when I saw that this monster had an actual "face" it really went up in my ranking for best monsters design in the serie

Balahara is the only monster without eyes tho. Chatacabra has quite visible eyes, Doshaguma eyes are just small asf but they are there. Lala Barina eyes are pretty visible.

Ray Dau is probably the Astalos of the group since it's moves are quite similar (minus the whole head turning into a thunder canon part) due to both being flying, thunder element based wyverns

Hey, if nobody realized this is the only monsters WITH kirin, that actually utilizes natural lightning! Not artificial like zinogre, astalos, and khezu and rajang, but ACTUAL lightning from storms! And its the one monster by far that aftually shows the aftermath of its blasts can create something like glass formations

Now we can say that it's official for sure. The Monster Hunter Wilds website should be updated now to show the names of the two new monsters. The Temnoceran is Lala Barina and the Flying Wyvern is now official named Rey Dau.
