Good lookin saw, Delta made that saw for Ridgid...I have an old Craftsman bought new around 1990ish, I think it too was built by Delta, I junked the old Craftsman fence and added the Delta fence just like your saw has, my fence has been great so far, my old Craftsman saw has been awesome, good luck with yours, I'm sure you'll have goid luck with it.

It’s cool to see how excited you are with this saw. I’m glad it’s got the ridged name on it too!

I have the Ridgid 4512. I think for an amateur woodworker it's a great saw. Your new Ridgid has a nice upgraded fence. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. congratulations.

i own a 4512 looks like they upgraded the fence on your model ,witch is a good thing since the 4512's fence has a nasty habit of just loosing square randomly. took a year of that before i replaced the fence with a after market part other than that its a great home table saw that will last a long time .

The Delta does not accept Dado Blades. The Rigid does!!!

I have the same exact saw, just wrapped in blue and called a Delta. ;) I have been using mine for a couple years now. Only three issues I have had: 1) the stamped steel sides can creep over time. About once a year, I have to loosen and re-align the wing. (My right wing was replaced by a Bosch router table top). 2) the stupid step down to move wheel, will stop working fairly soon. It’s been the absolute bane of my existence at times! 3) On mine, the measuring tape on the right side isn’t accurate under about 6 inches. If I set the window so that 6” is exact, I’m off by about 1/16th by 4 inches and 1/8th inch by 1 inch. But from 6” up, it’s 100%. Perfectly accurate. I just use a measuring tape under 6”. One of these days I’ll get around to replacing it. Even have the new tape in my drawer. 😂 It has been a joy to use, and the only saw I’d exchange it for would be a cabinet saw. Not that I could wrestle one down into my basement, but…

I also have the Delta version. I immediately built a custom stand. The stand it comes with was just too tall for my liking. I used some acacia butcherblock for the right wing. I built storage for jigs on each side and more storage in the stand. I like the saw. It's pretty accurate, but the dust collection isn't so great. It loves to throw sawdust in your face, depending on the cut. Since it's a 2.5 inch port, I just have it connected to a dedicated shop vac on an auto switch with a dust separator. Rigid and Delta share the hinged sliding miter saw, as well. I have the Rigid model and there was a bit of shenanigans on the website pricing with it when I bought it, so I think HD has issues with online pricing at times.

I used my Makita job site 8-1/4” table saw doing hobby/fine woodworking for years (old framer/general contractor) myself. Getting ready to retire as well and broke down and bought a 4hp Harvey cabinet saw. I am so happy with it and the accuracy. Looks like you found a very nice and affordable step up from the Ryobi. Congratulations!

Be sure you register saw to activate the LSA. I have a different model and it has been replaced twice for free.

Please use your blade guard when ever possible, they are finger savers.

a lot of the noise from your old saw table was from that "custom teak" addon you were using. take that out and the rattling will at least stop.

I’m guessing it was one of the HD daily deals it’s $685 now with your link
@MDLloyd3 күн бұрын
It must be a local deal. It still shows 399 at my Vista Store. Home Depot Vista Ca North Oceanside Store 5755 Mission Ave Oceanside, CA 92057 (760)945-8686

So on the fence does it clamp from both front and back or just the railing in front?
@MDLloyd2 күн бұрын
3 Point clamp, so the back bar and both sides of the front bar
@unforgivable154 күн бұрын
Use a flap disk with a high grit like 320 (or higher) to flush up those rails. And throw on some nice enamel. Random orbital held at an angle might work also.
@MDLloyd4 күн бұрын
I used a file and then hit it with some sanding and black enamel. Works good but I would rather it was a single bar.

Dont sell the ryobi. Use it for a loaner when someone asks to borrow it. There's always that brother in law or neighbor that borrows stuff and never returns it.😂
@MDLloyd3 күн бұрын
Haha, my daughter already borrowed it. 👍

Where did you get it for $399? Its $685 on Home Depot website
@@MDLloyd yeah, that link goes to a $685 saw. Still cheaper than the Delta, but I think you must have got one hell of a deal! Or maybe the wrong saw sticker on the saw you got! Great saw btw, I used to have one and loved it.

@@Esqualey Sorry It might be a local deal? I'm in Vista CA. It was a next-day delivery. I was looking hard at some other saws and almost pulled the trigger on a Grizzly bench top but this deal showed up and for the price, I had to jump. Not sure I would have at $685

sorry you had to go through the garbage that has orange lipstick and called Ridgid. I once made a mistake and bought a very expensive Ridgid 6" jointer only to discover that i cant get the fence square to the bed, no matter what i did.
@MDLloyd4 күн бұрын
Yeah, I was concerned especially at the price it was offered for. I am pleasantly surprised! It's a huge upgrade from the Ryobi jobsite for just a few bucks more.
