I think something important to point out is how Base Damage bucket is where the Resilient and Ele Aversion apply. They reduce damage in that bucket much like how Weaken and Fortify work in the others. Also, the PVE perks go into Base Damage as well, but you're right to exclude them from PVP considerations. And there is one last bucket you forgot to include. Bonus armor rating (200 CON, Sturdy Shield from SNS tree) and armor penetration (Penetrating Backstab, Penetrating Wrecking Ball). But it's rather niche and pretty much baked into the pie.

@@mecr0w Yes, please do an analysis for Shirking Heals perk for damage mitigation. Also other aspects to compare it to. I believe this is exteriemly underrated perk that all should have. Perhaps BIS. I dropped all my resil for this and now I'm unkill able. You need heavy anti heal to negate this. Its maybe gonna be META soon. We will see.... who knows but AGS....

In PVE (I assume because that’s where that build is S tier) you probably just want thrust dmg, hearty, and the bleed duration perk. Keen tondo is enough crit chance alone, don’t really need a lot more keen than that.

For PvE you want Heart of Anhurawak (Thrust, Keen, Bleed).

I am confused. A while ago you posted a video showing that the flaming staff is not affected by invigorated punishment. How is this working? Should I craft a fire damage + invig for fire staff or not?

That but got fixed so fire staff now works with invigorated punishment, fd + invig is as good as keen + invig now

Since FS can reach 1.62 crit damage multiplier isnt better to run crit on ring and staff? To maximize burst and dps which FS is bis, keen, vicious, attu/keenly empowered? Or fire dmg ring with different FS

It’s basically the same dmg but slightly favors fire dmg ring still according to the sim I ran (which is a bit surprising). Just run 1 keen effect if you go for keen though.

Not sure it depends on how much empower bow has. I’d guess keenly empowered/attunement/enchanted is best but might be missed a better perk.

help me understand how a 10% chance to crit for 40% more damage (ie. +4% damage statistically and then there's crit resist too) would ever be better than straight up +5% empower? From a simple math perspective, it makes no sense to me how this is a comparison worth making.

There’s an empower cap so when we hit that cap you have to look at other things. That’s my argument too, but on ptr resil is nerfed so stuff changes

so basically, you just want lots of different stats bombing out of yourself when attacking? lets say, void attunement, opal runeglass lighting , and then lets say all arm gems +lighting dps? this then makes us hit lots of different buckets?

Yep you just want a variety of stats and to limit debuffs like weaken

@@alv798 tbh I explained it about the best I can in this video, but there are 5 different buckets of dmg that all multiply together. Mathematically it's best to distribute your stats evenly across all buckets to get the most damage. Most people just overuse the base dmg bucket (attunement) and instead should use the empower bucket more (fire runeglass for example).

@@mecr0w how does this affect bruisers? Do u think it'd be worth it to stick with stamina recovery - health - slash prot and instead change the gems in your gear to runeglass gems? That way we would give up on some physical and elemental protection but would still have a very high resistance against our main incomming damage (slash) and since they as far as i understood would count towards the empower would have the same effect as the shirking empower

Yea the difference between ags and dataminers/testers is we test hypothesis until we mathematically get results that are expected. Then use the models that resulted in expectations to get results. Reverse engineering in a nutshell
