My grandfather had a garage like that in Boston, USA. It was a dark, mushy treasure trove of tools. paint and spare parts! Nice choice in seats and color!

Hi Stu, I fitted the touring seats but reverted to oem for the front seat as I found it more comfy than the touring item. The original feels slightly larger, softer and does not lift me a cm or two - all of which I prefer. The touring back seat (and touring pegs) have remained as my wife prefers them. I have also fitted a heel/toe shifter which I think suits this easy going motorcycle. I love my Classic 350, more smiles per miles.

I fitted the 'low ride' seat from RE, not because I need a lower seat, but because I liked the look of it. it is firmer than the original but ridiculously comfortable. Fitted the cosmetic springs too. I have removed the pillion seat (never carry a pillion) and fashioned a carrier from the frame. Looks quite nice in my opinion. Lovely jubbly!
@639viablecarrot2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've tried the original seat, Touring seat and the low profile and I think the low profile the most comfortable.1500Km with the touring seat and my bottom did not like it at all.I like you fitted springs and removed the pillion seat etc. Stu regarding the fitting of the springs you do not need to remove the rear mudguard if you use 2 regular bolts and a ratchet spanner 👍. I've also fitted the sump guard which again I would suggest you use some grease on the Allen bolts as you will need to remove these each time you do an oil change. Other additions are a chain oiler which discreetly sits near the fnt brake reservoir.Have also fitted RE pannier frames available in black or chrome. Used the lge Lomo panniers as preview by Stu and they fitted excellent when touring with my partner with no problems 👍.

Been meaning to get the Low Rider seat. May I ask for a long term review comparison between the low rider vs stock seat in terms of comfortability after riding a couple of hours?
@oldguzziguy Жыл бұрын
To be honest, I've never tried the original seat, so I cannot offer a valid comparison. I've spent many a long hour on the low seat and find it very comfortable. However, you should try both as I've heard complaints about the comfort of the low-rider seat from others. I am in India, otherwise you'd be welcome to try mine. Good luck.

The touring seat looks great on that bike. I am glad that RE used shouldered hardware on this bike. I think it looks more finished. I am really happy to see that they have welded bolt tubes in to the frame so that the bolt holes do not become a moisture entry point in to the frame.

Beautiful into. I'd like to watch a video made of shots like that, same sort of music and nothing else would be needed. Something like a tribute video to the Classic 350? Not complaining about the rest of the video but a compliment to how enjoyable the introduction is; I'd watch 15 minutes of just that just fine.

Hi Stu, good video and explains clearly the seat fitting method as a lot of bikes today are simply turn a key and remove. Also I agree that your method looks very sensible as opposed to RE’s. Great tip to rust proof any area that you wouldn’t normally access. In the past I’ve always also put something on the bolts, nuts, screws etc. depending on what’s to hand, variously LM/Graphited/Lithium based grease, WD40 or GT85! Also useful on threads particularly if they are different metals or alloys to prevent corrosion between the threads - I still have an impact driver somewhere!

They do look good Stu, looking forward to the ride review, my regular pillion passenger would welcome a more comfortable ride, any chance you can get an experienced pillion passenger on board to give their comments? Keep up the great work, monsoon is about to start here so I sympathize with your predicament during filming!

I fitted black touring seats to my Halcyon Green classic as I can't abide brown seats. I concur that refitting the grab rail or rack is by far the worst bit of the job. I then added a large Airhawk pad and the overall result is brilliant, very comfortable for my 21 stone all up weight! My only gripe with the whole bike is the position of the rear brake pedal, which forces my right foot into an unnatural position, resulting in ankle, knee, and hip pain after 20 minutes riding.
@SteveRobertsTheNurdler2 жыл бұрын
That’s interesting about your discomfort regarding the rear brake lever, mine gets regularly ‘adjusted’ by the rocky conditions here, so I’ve become an expert backyard hack at re-aligning mine to suit me, find a pipe of suitable diameter to slip over the pedal and give it tweak in the right direction, check it still functions appropriately and doesn’t foul on the silencer or pipe and away you go. 🙏🏿

Great video Stu, the seat looks great, but I’m interested as to why Enfield, and many other manufacturers, don’t provide a pillion seat big enough for a pillion! Back in the 70s/80s the passenger had as much room (well almost) as the rider and things were fine, but nowadays it’s a perch which a kid would struggle to sit on with both cheeks on the seat. I feel the Classic would look better with two seats like the riders, and ditch the grab rail; does anyone actually use one? Anyway keep up the great work, and ride safe 👍🏻
