Again another great piece by Bill. Hit it on the head. I’m. 65 yo white male and live in rural Alabama. I bet every Democrat thinks they can describe me without having ever met me and they would be dead wrong except, I’ll never be a Democrat. And the main reason why, is they’ve told me I don’t fit. I’m a conservative but more like libertarian than Republican. I’m open to being a Democrat. I remember when it was really a choice you could consider. I’ve got compassion for people who cant help themselves but not for those who can but would rather complain. The fact is, only a few people have always had it easy. Most people, regardless of race, color, creed, etc, have had to work hard for the success they’ve earned. Democrats tell me my life was easier because I was born white. I was also born poor. And I don’t feel like I had a big advantage because I worked my ass off for 40+ years to make something. When I see black and white people on tv or in film wag their finger at me and want to lecture me about some sin, in their world, was born with, I simply and immediately tune out. Not interested. Hard enough to wade through the bullshit you have to listen to to get anything done than to waste one second of mental energy on that racist tripe about my whiteness. What I despair about now politically, is the void of competent and moral people, of any race or color, that want to lead this country as president, senator or congressman. I'm a civil engineer who worked for a gov't transportation agency for decades as a designer / project manager. One of the earliest examples we experienced, & is still going on, of utterly Irritating Woke-ness has to be the hard core public transportation advocates that make a living out of attending policy meetings & commenting on Environmental documents (they live off trust funds so no need to actually earn a living). Now I got into designing & managing public transportation projects (rail & bus) because I am a train enthusiast & wanted to do something "environmentally beneficial". But I soon found out, there is just no pleasing these "extremists". We design railroad stations but these folks will NOT allow us to put ANY vehicle parking around them. Because commuters are supposed to take a bus, or walk, or ride their bikes to the station. After all, cars are EVIL!!!!!! So we must DEFEAT the EVIL of Cars!!!!! So again & again & again, these people line up to oppose projects that will have environmental benefits (train stations, etc) because they are simply not PURE enough in their minds. Now I challenge anyone to ride a bike to a train station to commute in/out of an executive job in a big city in the northeast (dressed up for office work, or needing a changing station at work?), where it's hot & humid as hell in the summer, & it's basically winter from Nov to April. Also on roads that date back to colonial times, narrow hilly & winding (yes, sure, put in bike lanes, but don't disturb historic properties or "sacred" Native American burial grounds - oh wait that's just a knuckle bone from someone around a centuries old campfire). We even had "them" to come out to oppose an upgraded commuter rail maintenance facility & storage yard, because it was next to a disadvantaged neighborhood (where we recruit folks to work for the railroad, & oh the neighborhood was originally built because of the rail yard, all the employees could walk to work). Then they didn't want the employees to have a parking lot, as they are supposed to, yes, take the train to work (yet they report to work at hours the train isn't running), or bike or walk to work (in blizzards & hurricanes when they need to keep the system running). These "woke" idiots simply know no end to their pursuit of "purity", rather see things not happen, then happen in some "impure" way that counters their "philosophy". Oh I'm sure they also opposed us offering coffee & cookies at the public meetings because there's cow's milk for the coffee & the cookies aren't gluten free & may have peanut products . . .

I feel for you. I had to work against human traficking with feminists groups , some were efficient, victim oriented , but they were the older ones, they really cared about the people they were trying to help. The younger intersectional ones made all the projects crash down , they did'nt care at all , what mattered was what word we used to describe things, if they themeselves felt good in the organization regarding their "intersectionalities" ( space was never "safe enough", pronouns stupidity, and other more serious problems regarding the victims themeselves) , it went as far as comparing human victims of trakicking with catel cows , so we also had to talk about cow abuse , because veganism and anti specism. That was when I left the social justice movement. I had always cared.. they did'nt and they were taking control. They are actually destroying any actual humanist effort to make the world better. It's a catastrophy.

I'm neither Republican or Democrat, but like Bill I tend to identify with Democrats more. But sometimes they go too far. I grew up in Wisconsin and we used to be proud of being Progressive. Bob LaFollette started the Progressive Party (although it didn't go anywhere but Wisconsin). But it used to mean doing what was right and what was needed regardless of politics. When welfare went to far we elected a Republican and were the first state to start Workfare and Learnfare. And sometimes the programs were poorly managed and lost sight of the reason, a person who is able to work should try doing so instead of growing up and expecting the government to take care of them. (Emphasis on able to work). It is sad to see Wisconsin what it is today being highly partisan. Wisconsin used to have some of the strongest ethics laws in the US. That was all wiped out by the previous Republican administration and the legislators who did it still boast and are proud of it. But on a bright spot, when I went back home last time almost every intersection in the countryside had been replaced by a traffic circle. A dangerous T intersection where there had been many accidents they built a bridge over the road so that people wanting to go right crossed it and then merged with traffic. It cost millions of dollars, but really it was the right thing to do. I like to think that is the mind set of Bill. Most people even using common sense or common courtesy wouldn't say or do the things like now. I liked America better when we were at least trying to work together. I wonder where that America went and if it is possible to get it back.

Black & Hispanics are overwhelmingly socially conservative and have birth rates consistent with this - as the libs push the woke stuff harder and harder this is going to p*ss off those communities. Mayoral elections in Texas and South Carolina where Biden won by 20+ points went Republican driven by Hispanic and Black votes switching. In VA Republicans won the Hispanic vote and continued to chip into the Black vote. These examples are not absolutes (too small to be fair) but they are pointers. So yes the white population is on the decline but those whites who are socially conservative are growing not dying. The minorities in the US with the exception of Indian Asians and a few others are largely socially conservative. The woke stuff is not going to be well received. The culture wars pushed into woke territory are a long term disaster for liberals across the world particularly with the liberal birth rates falling off the edge of a cliff. In my 20+ yrs of watching Bill, I have never seen him more critical and scathing toward his own party (my party as well) than today. This discontent is surely fueled by the rise of a fringe that didn't seem to exist even 5 yrs ago -- The Squad, Antifa, and "the woke". To see him snipe at his own party (and calling out names) has not only been riveting, but has made virtually all his New Rule segments over the entire season "must see" television. To me, he has completely raised the bar in the quality of his criticism and satire during New Rules. They serve as consistent and urgent reminders that liberals need to reclaim a platform of common sense, as evidenced by this segment as well as the entire episode.

The first party to connect with normal people will dominate elections at all for the next 20 years. For Democrats - stop using the wokabulary. Every time you interview, you're constantly dropping phrases like "white supremacy" or "people of colour" or "racial justice" or "internalised misogyny". Stop that. Sometimes it's a signal to the Twitterati that you're on their team, but in some cases I think you've just gotten so used to speaking that way that it just rolls off the tongue now. Maybe that's not the biggest issue with the Democratic Party, it it is the most obvious reminder to middle class suburban voters that your constituency is Twitter and Yale Alumni. For Republicans - when Glen Youngkin won, your immediate instinct was to come out and declare that it was proof that "Americans don't want socialism". The election wasn't about socialism - it was about middle class issues like education, a scandal involving a school board covering up a rape, and concerns about inflation. Republicans can probably win if they just run on being anti-woke, but if you want to dominate elections focus on kitchen table issues like health, education, civil liberties, crime, infrastructure and jobs.

I say this as a Lefty and classic liberal, but the Left has been ideologically captured, just as academia and the tech sector has been captured. A "moderate democrat" is, by the standards of current Left thinking, "Alt-Right". Anyone even vaguely right of Far Left is essentially Right-Wing. As I see it, nothing can be done in the current climate. Under normal circumstances, Biden would be a a good president, but he has no idea what's going on. He's like George Bridges. What needs to happen goes something like this: Democrats lose big at the mid-terms. Republicans nominate a sane Republican (i.e. not Trump) who unseats Biden in 2024. Democrat party undergoes self-reflection, reigns in the crazy. If they don't lose, they won't learn. If the Republicans don't nominate someone sane, such as nominating Trump, then it will simply fuel the whole thing, that the Republicans retook power because "white supremacy"/racist/hegemonic/oppressive/bullshit, escalating the whole thing.

@@TagSpamCop I like what you are saying, but as a conservative who supported Trump in 2016 and in 2020 I wanted to express my own opinion regarding him, and how I believe most conservatives/republicans view him. First of all, Trump was not my first choice in 2016. I wanted Ben Carson, he was my primary choice and when he dropped out and endorsed Trump, I switched to Ted Cruz.. I was suspicious of Trump because he had been a democrat in years prior and I just doubted that he was real. However, when Trump won the primary and became the candidate my choice was made for me. There was simply no way I was going to support Clinton. As my focus switched to Trump and I started reading the news articles and watching the interviews and all that I became aware of just how unfairly Trump was being treated by the media compared to Clinton. Over time I became very bitter about that because it's how conservatives have been treated for so long.. We are branded as uneducated and unless we can prove otherwise, racist white supremacists too. At least that is how it seemed to me. Even before Trump was elected rumors of impeachment were heard. After he assumed office he was immediately put under a cloud of Russian collusion bs that hung over him for the vast majority of his term. During those 4 years, he faced 96% negative media coverage. It just hurt. I did not vote for Trump because he was white, or because I thought he did not like black people, or any of that. I mostly supported him because he was not Clinton. And I had seen plenty of positive media coverage of Trump in the years before he announced his candidacy, not once had I ever seen or heard anyone accuse him of being racist. So of course it fit the narrative like a glove.. as soon as you are deemed a republican here come the accusations of white supremacy and racism. Nobody has any idea just how sick and tired, I and others like me, are of being falsely accused of being racist white supremacists. It's an accusation that is impossible to defend against because racism and white supremacy is an issue of the heart. Anyways, I strongly feel like Trump was not given a fair shake in his presidential term. No law abiding American Citizen deserves that kind of negative media coverage just because they decided to run for president. That is why if Trump runs in 2024 and is the candidate for the republican party, I will support him. Personally tho, I would much rather see him play a kingmaker role and endorse someone like Ron DeSantis. But be that as it may.. The democrat party desperately needs to root out the socialist/marxist cancer that is taking it over before it is too late. The only way I would ever support a democrat is if it were someone with the kind of values that John F. Kennedy had. He was pro 2nd Amendment, he was pro life for the most part, and he did not hate white people. ~cheers

@@Unit285 4,6,8, 12. Keep those numbers in mind. Over the last 4 Presidential elections, those were the percent of Black voters the Republican Presidential nominee got. It's basically known that if a Republican can get 20% of the Black vote, he'd be unbeatable.

I'm a Conservative-leaning Brit, living in the UK. Started listening to Bill recently and while I wouldn't agree with his every view, I love the amount of common sense he speaks. There's good food for thought here, that parties from all sides in all democracies would do well to consider.

I just wonder what exactly does "conservative" is even conserving at this point in thr West. mass migration already changed the demographics of Western European countries and everything looks like a jungle with violence, crime, riots, stabbings, etc. and why aren't any other political parties rising in UK besides the establishment ones?
