Definitely should have turned it 90 degrees to have the lineset and wires not exposed to the outside path and grass. It might be hard to service but sure keeps the accidental damage or intentional harder to be done. Is it required to attach the condenser unit down to the pad in your area?
@KoolinwithKrauss
@KoolinwithKrauss Жыл бұрын
I get it! Tighter to the house can be better in most cases. For service that’s the primes location, and being on a poured pad and up 5” it will be out the way of any issues. Also yes, In Florida those are hurricane straps, with 3” tapcons!

Been watching you're videos for a while and just realized you're in Florida after seeing a license plate. I did HVAC out on the space coast. Standard residential. Cinder block houses and hurricane straps.

I see you install and service a lot of RUUD/RHEEM stuff - you ever install any of the new, non-communicating, 2-stage condensing units with the Unloader? A customer here has one and it stays stuck in [c] even with call from 2nd stage on Y2 going to the board - no DC voltage from the board to the unloader on the compressor - we didn't get any help from the Supply House and the installers apparently lost the book. I just got this FEELING that it's something simple like the dip switch setting at the top-left part of the board. It's one of those boards that can work with a Comm or Non-Comm system that has all the extra plugs for Hot Gas Bypass Heat Pump and all kinds of other features - so I KNOW it's meant to be set to what functions it needs to control. Currently all the dip switches are DOWN - non sure which one(s) need to get flipped to do Straight Cool and 2-stage. Any Idea...???

Soooooo, so far I have installed just 2 of the 14az2, which seer do u have?! The 16 has a modulating compressor which is dumb 🤦🏼‍♂️ But it depends on where your at to, if it’s 95-100+ out it’ll probably run I. 2nd to try to keep up. If you can get your hands on the literature that’ll definitely “help” even though the condensing wiring doesn’t match the actual wiring compared to the air handler 🤦🏼‍♂️ it’s a confusing mess Let me know what you are able to find and feel free to email me and I’ll try my best!! Definitely new technology to me as well!

Ruud used to do all purple wires for a time. They just had stickers on them. It would drive me crazy. I’d have to trace the wires every time I worked on one. America 1776 baby!

So far so good in my experience. It’s the brand I started with and where I’ve come back too! Prior to Ruud was dealing a lot with Trane and came to find larger amount of breakdowns with the tranes then I do with the Ruuds … for now 😅

Was it not a rheem heat pump you put on the roof instead of the straight cool? Also Goodman coils never come with the right piston. There is a chart in the box to look up the outdoor unit and see the right piston

@@KoolinwithKrauss I actually had an older woman, bless her, wanting me to check her furnace before I left the other day when it was 100° outside....like "....no offense, ma'am...but I'm not gonna do that right now." I had just barely gotten her old 'trashcan style' condenser going. Weird unit. All the electrical is in a kind of 'hoop' around the top under a cover with a TINY fan blade - Round, Spine-Fin....but it's in a Carrier 🧐🤔🤨

I have a 4 ton carrier about 7yrs old Freon level good new dryer clean coil n condenser new thermostat but doesn’t seem to shut off at 77 during day like it normal did before eve when it’s not so hot does same :( but at night it does shut off normal. Only for thing not oem is condenser fan motor Any ideas what it could be ? Thank you so much in advance
@KoolinwithKrauss
@KoolinwithKrauss Жыл бұрын
So many variables come into play. If working ok before the work was performed , clearly another underlying issue. Such as air flow, refrigerant levels, fan speed etc. especially since you mentioned not the OEM motor that could definitely have an impact on the system. Again tons of variables. But also depends on location. Would contact very reputable company with truly trained and certified techs and Alger some answers 👍🏻

Ruud and rheem, I’m not really sure on much of a difference. In my market I prefer Ruud/rheem for the reversing valve aspect. Am a fan of Trane also, for some reason not as much a fan of American standard tho 🤷‍♂️
