Mr Curtis, thank you for the video. I see stuff I need to do better on my maintenances. Been in the trade eight years but only 3ish in the field.

Those days when I know I’m doing just maintenance I like to bring my bigger shop vac for cleaning out those leaves and stuff from the a/c’s. It’s so difficult to do it by hand. Especially ones that I’ve never maintained.

Get rain x washer fluid and you won't need wipers at highway speeds except in very heavy downpours.

You would be amazed by how many people leave the blade guard on and wonder why the blades aren't working well.

Hello Curtis, still love the videos and you’re doing a great job not only teaching, but I also love your HVAC nights program. On a totally different subject I have a question… I haven’t seen you use your Milwaukee crimp tool in a while. Do you still use it or did you run into a problem and no longer like it? I ask because I bought one and all the fittings and I have yet to use it so I’m pretty much five grand in the hole. Thanks

if you want your wiper blades to last you cant allow wax to get on them at the car wash. either remove them during the wash or dont get anything but a basic wash

As a 57 year auto tech I can say all you need do for wiper blades to increase life is use an alcohol wipe on them once a month (or at each wash).Do the same if you start getting streaking. Be sure to look at the blade for cracks or splitting (if seen replace the blades).

Highly doubt Curtis is going through a car wash with that tall van, can't even go thru most drive thru's

Looking at the condition of many of the units you repair, I am amazed more don't do PM. Obviously in these times, just as with cars, its cheaper to poor money into repairs than buy new and maintenance is the key. IOW, if its a forgone conclusion people are a going to squeeze the last bit of use out of an HVAC unit, than it's obviously a pay you now, or pay you a lot more later. I also notice in your area (and another in N.Carolina) moisture is a huge factor. I live in the high desert in California where HVAC units last so long, they are only replaced to get more energy efficient units (or parts become unuptainium) because energy is so expensive, a high Seer unit can pay for itself in less than 10 years.

Curtis I noticed in some of those installations they have several elbows; it's this due to very short refrigerant lines as to increase their length or is there any other reason? Just curious!
