My wife hated the window coverings in our fleetwood expedition as well,and taking them out made it look so much bigger.I started our project six months ago.

I love them. We bought ours through Lowe’s, spent $$$$ and the heat exploded plastic, springs one of ours. I was sad, hubby did the pull down.

We really love ours. And they have been holding up really well.

RV looks good guys! We're remodeling ours a little bit and have now come to the blinds... We're thinking roller shades but not sure. I'll have to bug Tony or Tim and get their input.
@ryanandsu3 жыл бұрын
We were thinking roller blinds too. But I have to say, the top down feature has been fantastic for when we are in a place with neighbors. We get light in but not sight lines.

I just bought cellular shades for my trailer.. and looking at Pinterest I started getting stressed about my decision and thinking they might look ugly when I’m done. Your guys look great and it made me feel confident in my decision. I think a lot of the trailer remodels on Pinterest are adorable but not functional for full timing!!

We have the same blinds in our house, they work great!! Maybe after looking at yours in the motorhome we'll look into having them installed in our MH.

Nice!

Very nice! For that one that goes up from the bottom, what holds it in place? Is it on some kind of track? As for Su's assumption about the roll-up window covers, you're right! Our travel trailer has window covers like that (which I sewed). Super cheap and they look cool, but they're not quick and easy to roll up. We only go on short camp trips, so that's fine, but it would be terrible for full-timers.

They have a cord exposed when they are in the down position. When they are opened in the up position, they are cordless. The bottom part of the blinds serve as the base when you pull them open in the down position.
@pkeeney3 жыл бұрын
@@ryanandsu Oh I see! The white cord was blending into the wall.

Oh. That makes sense. We filmed a section showing how they worked. For some reason we didn’t put it in the video.

Even though I think the mermaid curtain would have been perfect for the build 😂 The gray looks great too! Can't stand super creepy people. That would have really bugged me out if I caught someone watching me through my window.

Thank you guys for sharing your honest RV remodel and experiences, its really nice to see the process from a more realistic perspective vs. just "Instagram friendly" like you said. Also sorry if its too nosy, but was this a CA based company that did the blinds? Just curious for the future, be nice to work with a good company locally.
@ryanandsu3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. We try to just show how it is. Hopefully we do that most of time. I believe budget blinds is a nation wide company. They are locally owned franchises. Our friends own the one here in chico. But definitely check them out. budgetblinds.com

Ryan how did you learn to do all the electrical stuff you do ??

I’ve always liked taking things apart. So I just started picking things up. And I a lot of research before attempting stuff... usually. Hahah.

You are just plain SMART! Golly I miss Paradise and families like both of yours. Happiest years of my life were spent there. 2001-2004 plus a few more off and on ... loved CMA church family & our cottage at 6041 skyway. I’m 75 now and that town and setting and people and weather remain my all-time favorite!

Can you provide a link to the people that did your installation?

Yeah. We had budget blinds of Chico do our installation. But they have franchises all over the county. budgetblinds.com/chico/

Where did you all buy them?
@ryanandsu2 жыл бұрын
Budget blinds came and did all the work for us. They came out and did the measurements, gave us their suggestion for what would work well in our space and did the install. It was amazing. We didn’t have to do a thing. It’s was our one project that we had someone else come in and work their magic. I was worried I was going to order the wrong thing or measure wrong. So it just made it easy.

We put up Zarcor window blinds on our door I love it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoaUdpuqo7pll7c On our last trip we left the dog uncrated and alone while we Kayaked, we now get to buy new blinds but we can't decide what we want. Right now, we have cheep Walmart curtains on spring rods because Walmart was the closest store to the RV park.
