Good job. We were camping Last week and our dog destroyed two blinds and no we didn’t throw him in the Mississippi River. But now I know how we are going to replace the blinds.

Thanks, making a frame like that is a great idea!
@deadendgarage20064 жыл бұрын
I would like to suggest if you are going to stain and varnish the frames to build them in a way that hides your fasteners. If you decide to paint them you can fill those holes with some bondo and paint away. To help keep the blinds from rattling as you drive you could put some small pieces velcro loop on the bottom corners to soften the rattle they make when moving while you drive. Just my thoughts.

YES! That’s a fantastic idea for the noise. For the fasteners I did want to fill the holes for sure.

Router the edges all around to get rid of the sharp edges. It minimizes edges spintering and also takes away the chance of kids hitting their heads and causing and more severe injury because of the added pressure point of a squared edge vs. a rounded edge. It will also soften the look of the frame itself and dresses it up for little efforts. Wood fill the screw holes and sand to a smooth finish.

Hey JD. You're opening my eyes to a world I never really thought about with these RV videos. My wife's been looking at them and learning a lot during the lockdown, too. Good stuff, man. Makes sense to contain the blinds like that to keep them from swinging all over the place as you travel. I believe I would paint them to match the gray cabinets as you mentioned. Looking good, man. See you on the next installment. Say hello to Laura. Almost time for the big push.✌

Maybe if you add some type of weather stripping to in the inside it won’t clank around when your driving

I’d stain it. Since you have kids they are going to be touching everything. Painting them you would have to use semi gloss for easy clean. Imo stained wood would make for a good break from the painted cabinets. Looks nicer stained imo.

I think stain would be better but you are already ruining the cabinets with paint so I guess it doesn't matter. I could never paint any interior wood in the home or travel home.
