The 2ah that comes with the USB 4volt devices, doesn’t double as a phone charger. However the newer 3ah battery (sold separately) does charge phones etc., and it also has a battery level indicator on it, where the 2ah does not.

Mine came today Free delivery via UPS . I paid $48 total via Home Depot. I just wish the battery could be charged without it being removed. It's a replacement for my Dremel. The Dremel charger stopped working and I couldn't find just the charger for it. The USB charging beats being tied down to a 110 Volt outlet.

That’s a great deal I was in the store today and saw they had them on sale with the other tool deals, they had the drill too for 25 and a two pack of batteries for 25 also, definitely better than cordless for portability, I used them to sharpen my hedge trimmer blades and cutting random stuff with the wheel every now and then, comes in handy when I need to cut some pvc

I think that the battery being charged external to the tool is a great idea as it means if you have a second battery you can have one charging while still using the tool. Just as you do with all other major cordless tools.

I really don’t know, I can’t even remember what I did with that box, I mainly use it with the sharpening stone that I showed in this video to sharpen my hedge trimmers or my wire snips, the last time i used one of the wheels it exploded and shot off what I was cutting, but that was a hyper tough accessories, so I either use the shapening attachment shown in this video or my angle grinder

Yea it might charge the battery from your phones juice but i don't believe it works the other way around. Only 1 port

@@Shmack_ USB-C can be bio-directional. But sadly this device doesn't have that feature for Input/output charge from the single C-port on the battery. But it does have DUAL charging support. Either from the USB-C port. Or Faster charging from Ryobi's AC wall dock that supports 3 cells to charge at same time. Which uses the 4 pins on the cell top to charge vs going through the USB-C port to charge.

This one does not power devices, but the newer 3ah battery sold separately does. When I plug this 2ah into a device, it actually looked like the device was charging the battery.

This is a failed product! Nothing fits in the collet and it was one of many design failures on it. They are just selling and hoping it can't be returned on time. They are stuck!

I've seen other people saying that they have trouble with the quick release collet. But I don't know what the problem is as I have not had any issues with mine. Everything from the kit fits fine as do all of my Dremel bits.
