Appreciate getting the video out so quickly! Last night at Home Depot they had one in clearance so i ended up picking one up! My quick change collet works pretty darn well. Gonna be handy to have if i ever need it. Appreciate it! So far im loving the 4v line, got the screwdriver, probably gonna get the power cutter next, I’ve been using tin snips to open up the clamshell packaging and I’m sick of it

Woohoo!! It is always wonderful being able to find these awesome tools on clearance, congrats on a great purchase! I agree that the 4V line is pretty impressive so far. My only real negative about the series so has been the weird shutoff issue w/the electric screwdriver. I do want to get the power cutter, it is on my future 'to buy' list. Thanks for the follow up and letting me know the review helped in your decision making.

Nice review, hombre. Just got one thinking about returning it, but I might keep for fine light speed detail work.

I've used mine in several tight areas or times when I am away from electrical power and I love it for that. IMHO it is a great little tool to keep for those specific occasions when you need something like it. Thanks for watching and giving the positive review for my video!

Looks like the brushes can't be replaced, is that accurate?
@TBKHomeworld13 күн бұрын
You cannot change the brushes on this like most older tools made now, so once the brushes go out it you would need to buy either a replacement motor (can be found on several parts websites for Ryobi tools) or purchase a new one. The entire industry has moved away from tools where you can change the brushes and are sealed units. You can technically still disassemble /most\ motors and replace the brushes and I would still encourage anyone with enough desire/skills to give it a shot. Thanks for watching and asking a great question!

@@TBKHomeworld Thanks so much for the quick and helpful response, really appreciate it. The constant move towards planned obsolescence is infuriating. Fortunately, there are still many rotary tools that have easily replaceable brushes. Thanks again.

I can’t get the quick change collet off the tool to change collets. How do you get that off?
@TBKHomeworld2 ай бұрын
I have made a quick short on how to do swap the quick change collet itself. I've been unable to open up the quick change system to replace the collet on the inside and all of my research shows it is 'non-serviceable'. I hope the video helps! kzbin.infoBfmsLEwBmnA

can you cut metal bolts with it?
@TBKHomeworldАй бұрын
I have cut plenty of wood screws with it but you cannot force the tool. It is not a normal high-speed rotary tool and if you are expecting it to act like a standard one (even an 18v or 20v version) then you will be very disappointed. I use it when it is either really convenient for me to grab it or I am in a very tight space, otherwise the 18v tool comes out. Gentle pressure against a bolt will eventually cut, however if you're doing anything with larger sizes just grab the 18v version as you'll be much happier. This is for smaller jobs and craft work. I hope that helps. Thank you for watching and commenting.
