My Piano teacher met this kid and asked him how can he play so well at the age of 12 (not about playing fast but about playing well). His reply was "whenever I'm playing, I look at my father. He never reacts impressed or anything and just keeps a straight face. That doesn't mean he isn't impressed, he just doesn't want that to get to my head that people are satisfies with what I'm playing. I think that's one of the reasons I keep trying to improve myself." Btw, this proves that this whole thing is staged (No offence to the kid) because his father was smiling in the clip they showed (+ their EXTRA reactions)

Jose De Leon that’s literally what an audition is. My most recent audition had to be 90 seconds which means 45 seconds per monologue but you never want to end exactly at 90 seconds so it’s more like 37-40 seconds per monologue or song. So quite literally you need to act better and faster than everyone else at the audition
@felinecube4953
@felinecube4953 5 жыл бұрын
As a film actor, I’d say that’s essentially comedy TV auditions in a nutshell. Dramatic ones are so much better though - depth of thought is so much more fun. Also more wiggle room in emotion.

How many ways can Arnold Schwarzenegger say "Get to da choppa!!!!!" or "I'll be back". ?? Idk why people think that playing fast = disgraceful. It is a mechanical skill so doing it fast is an actual skill since it requires more micromanagement compared to playing slow. Obviously a lot of people prefer other aspects of music rather than speed, but that doesnt change the fact that it is a skill.

While I get your points, and I agree with what your saying, you chose some very poor analogies aside from the cooking one. That's why they hid this video which is beyond their talent level and instead showed and commented on the bumblebee video to put him down. It is understandable how salty and threatened the 'Chinese' get when competition shows up in music out of nowhere. Much like Yao Ming at a basketball court. P.S. Yeah, I totally a agree. As a vocalist, I can input that it's not about how many sounds you can make and how big your range is, but how well you use what you have. People can be phenomenal singers with a 1.5 octave range. It's how you use your voice and convey emotion through your performance and singing techniques. Range is dependent on vocal technique, not singing technique (I'll save the difference for another topic), but essentially this means you can be an effective singer even with a small range. In voice acting, it's not about how many accents you can do and the number of personas you have, but how consistent you are in a vocal archetype, or character, and how good your vocal acting is. With that said, it's fun to explore and experiment with different accents, sounds, and pitch, but that should be to add diversity and versatility, not the main focus of expanding one's vocal repertoire. I've heard people that make reels with a bunch of generic sounding characters and shoddy accents, and I've also heard amazing vocal reels of people using just one vocal archetype. I love that these guys are helping educate people about performing arts, the emotional richness and original intention matters in addition to the artistry in the performance.

@@LainGato Women have three types of voices: soprano (high), mezzosoprano (medium-low) or alto (low). For men is: countertenor (soprano-like), tenor (high), baritone (medium-low) or bass (low). It is possible singing pieces of other voice types, but it probably won't sound as well as the types of voices it was intended for. Also the voices of men take more time to mature, so when they're small they can sound like sopranos. But as they grow older, their voice grows deeper and fall into the previously mentioned categories. The range depends on the person and can be improved. It doesn't depend on the voice type.

@@awickisASMR First of all singing high doesn't necessarily mean you have good range, you could be only able to sing high. Not only that but having good range doesn't make you a good singer, being able to sing accurately is what makes you one. Think about it, having a big piano doesn't make your playing better, it just expands what you can play with it. If you're terrible at playing piano, a bigger piano will just make you terrible over a bigger range. That's the same for any instrument.

@@joshshultz1250 "Anyone can play accurately with good phrasing and dynamics" ?!? No. Just no. Not everyone can do that. A lot of people try and fail. Believe me. I had good teachers and I tried, and tried, and tried again. I studied music theory, played violin and piano, went to music school, practiced relentlessly, listened to countless pieces of classical music (my mom used to be an opera singer so I grew up listening to classical). One day I gave up, I sucked at music and was fed up to fail again and again. But then I started to sing. And I realised that I didn't suck at music. I sucked at playing instruments, but I was very good at singing. I joined a choir and had an absolute blast. So now I let others play instruments and I sing with them. We can't all be good at everything, and that's OK. We all have different talents, we just have to find which one(s).

I’m zero impressed with speed for speeds sake, it’s just so ‘look at me, I must be so good’ when in fact any decent musician can learn to play fast if they dedicate their practice sessions to it, but it so often sounds awful and sloppy and utterly meaningless, this is just a kid though so this somehow makes it magically more impressive. I’m impressed by beautiful playing, and this is what music is about, not showing off. It’s not the kids fault though it’s just a reflection of our society, it’s more important to look the part and wow people than to have any sort of integrity or real value.

@@infintiyward Sometimes, the technical ability might be important. However, the piece of music is also important. If you don't follow the music's instructions, you might not be able to produce the same effect. Lastly, If you're playing too fast, you can't hear any technical aspects. In piano, you've gotta have articulation, dynamics and legato and staccato. If you're playing too fast, you can't hear those aspects, and if you're just playing the keys right, you aren't really showing your skill. In Diploma piano, ABRSM, you might play all the notes right and at a fast speed. However, this doesn't give u a good grade as you aren't showing an understanding of the music. I much rather enjoy a slower piece with dynamics and articulation rather than a horrifically fast piece with no understanding of music. All of this said though, the kid's still impressive. Super late to the party but classically trained vocalist vibing SO hard with these guys -- it reminds me of when people are SUPER SHOCKED AND IMPRESSED MUCH WOW at singers who can hit super high and super low notes for shock value. Like yeah cool whistle tones ummm go listen to the Queen of the Night aria where she has to hit those coming from trills on regular soprano notes and also keep it up for a two hour opera. I'm a second alto who can hit whistle tones without even warming up. Does it sound good? HAAAAA no. No, it does not. Gimmicky art absolutely kills me.

Sorry, but i never said that the speed they play it is the inteded tempo 😂 im saying that these people keep saying "average speed" as if ts something bad, as if the piece was meant to be played fast and as if its a competition as to who plays it faster. I hate that, the composer, any, wrote their pieces at a specific tempo, which is meant to be followed, and yes their does exist renditions, but this is just ridiculous

One of the greatest things about going to an orchestra concert is sitting silently for 30 or 40 minutes, hearing the final few bars of the final movement, feeling the tension in the crowd around you begin to grow, and then finally everyone erupts into the loudest cheering and whooping you've ever heard once the last note is played. Every time I go to a symphony or chamber concert, there's always a standing ovation that lasts several minutes. To hear people cheering _in the middle_ of a classical performance like that just ruins the magic.

4:15 I (respectfully) disagree with your statement, its not that I don't believe he isn't talented its just that how stated your thought makes you seem biased for whatever reason and somewhat close minded....that's surprising to me because I am younger than you,then again you seem young too which would be another reason you think this way,it is based more on the emotional side of things. (←your opinion btw) Yes he good but what they are talking about is how the idea of being able to play this piece "faster than normal" is not as amusing as it may seem and that people that play this or anything shouldn't have the mindset of so. They acknowledge his talent they just are saying it isn't impressive (it also does seem staged, which wouldn't be his fault,he has nothing to with the adults choosing tho make this but yeah) This is just what I think don't be upset 🎹🎹🎹
