Are there 2 versions of the 1.55 out there? What are the differences between the iPhone 12 Version and the iPhone 14 Pro Version? Are there any differences? I am looking for a used one thats why i am asking 😊

I think there is a slightly different version for each iPhone, as each phone camera has slightly different optics. But no major differences as far as I’m aware!

Love your videos. I have 14pro max. I am very interested in the 1.55 and the 16mm,,,,but I don't want to order them UNLESS they are the new versions. I listened to what you reviewed concerning some clarity problems on the older ones. My question is,,,,,HOW do I know they will send me the newer ones. Might they send the older ones to unsuspecting persons to get rid of old stock?? Can you make it crystal clear for people with this same concern.......thank you so much

I haven’t done any side by side comparisons but from using them I’d say they’re very similar, both sharp and crisp! SANDMARC has a few cases you can choose from vs ShiftCam. And I don’t think the ShiftCam lenses have started shipping yet. Happy vlogging! ✌🏻

Moment’s M-Series haven’t all worked so well for me on the 14 Pro Max (vignetting and dark corners on some lenses), but they have new T-Series lenses out soon for newer phones with bigger sensors - I’ve not tested them yet! Sandmarc has already updated all their lenses and they work great, I’ve done a few videos on them! So it depends if you need lenses now or can wait! ✌🏻

It would have been nice when I returned mine, to know that they would release a new version. I am now waiting for the wide 16mm LensUltra from Shitfcam and hopefully this lense will be superior or at least equal to the new Sandmarc. Thank you Jack!

Credible review, pleasant footage and stills, nice Canon comparison pics, Jack. Good of Sandmarc to update the wide lens. Some smartphones automatically switch on-board cameras (e.g., zoom function); would that be an issue for an add-on lens that blocks the other lenses? So there’s no “de-squeeze” function in device native editor? Proper alignment can be an issue w/clip-on lens arrangements, in general. Cheers!

Cheers Paul! Yes the native camera app might switch cameras with a lens mounted on the Main. You can get around that on iPhone by enabling the Macro Control in the Settings app. Or by shooting with a third party app. You can manually desqueeze the footage yourself, I think I’ve seen apps that can do it or you can do it yourself in editing software by charging the vertical scaling. And true about the lens clip! I’d recommend going with a case for perfect alignment! ✌🏻

Yes, just tried it with the current CPL filter. It doesn’t fit as the new Wide is slightly bigger then the old lens! ✌🏻

Do you mean those little green orbs you get from the iPhone cameras? Haven’t seen anything that can get rid of those yet! Think it might be to do with the coating Apple uses on their lenses. Agreed though, it seems to get worse with each new iPhone. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻

@@JCKRGB I seen that but it’s hard to judge by the comparing mine to the one in the screen. Mine does say 16mm on the side and I’ve seen some that say .56x on the side. If you still have it could you take a second to measure the opening on the improved one? Thank you for the info you put up.

Do you have issues with the leather case mounting plate coming loose? I’ve received two from sandmarc and after mounting and unmounting the lenses, it becomes loose.
