Forgotten mech graveyard is a somewhat common location in my experience. I’ve seen it about 7 times in way less hours of play.

there is an artifact there if you skip main quest on NG+, ive been there atleast 8 times rushing to NG+10 after playing the story twice and rushed to my forever home in NG+11

If you are speed running through NG+ by selecting not to replay the story, a "mech graveyard" is a location you will be pointed towards to collect an artifact. From your ship go under the giant archway, hang a hard left and find a small cave on your right side. Inside the cave is where the artifact will be located.

@@1Bearsfan I've played for 1000 hours and just got my first power yesterday :) I just like playing the dungeons/ sidequests/ basically everything but the story after I meet Vlad/ Andrega (and ok, sometimes Barret and Sam...), but figured it's about time I beat the darned thing lol. I saw my brother beat it months ago and figured it's just not my thing.

this one actually is not the graveyard 1-of-a-kind-salvage you visit during the vanguard quest line. however graveyards like this (sadly exactly like this) can be found on a few planets with a history of colony war battles.

Im fairly sure that most pois are randomly generated or bound to certain planet types. The pois for dead planets are vastly different to the habitable ones. I also noticed that the farther out you go the more habitable planets there are. There is a huge part of the game that you can only get by taking things slow and a huge number of people missed it because they wanted to speed run ng+.

POIs seen from orbit are not random and are the same for everyone.

this is where my pirate map led me to and I got my staggering beowulf. BTW any time you fast travel you re-roll the weather (meaning sometimes you can get the same one, but most times you won't.) just go 100m away from your ship, turn around and fast travel back.

I’ve run into a few of those around on various planets. I was only getting 50-75% explored on them until I came across one that was in part of a fetch quest, and there is a cave that’s unmarked around the base somewhere, then it said completely explored.

No...the one that says "Structure" from space was an original. It was some playboy mansion type place FULL of aurora an crimson fleet. Apparently the owner had a big mouth and got himself killed. I bought the game on release and just found this location a few days ago.

Do you (or anyone) understand how Starfield's procedural generation seed works? . Only asking as I've had the mech graveyard twice as a random POI, during my current playthrough. 600+ hours across 3 characters and I've only ever encountered the 'Mining Platform' once, however. . I'm just interested in the way it all works in this particular game, and why some people have "rare" spawns often, and others seldom etc.

The POIs as seen from orbit are exactly the same for everyone. That’s why a KZbinr can make this video and say go here and you’ll see “this”. Now when you land on a planet other things will spawn in the sandbox so to speak.

I seen this location many times, there’s and Artifact located there in a cave further over from where you where . I’ve played over 1,000 hours and i’m sure i’ve seen it in my early days of gameplay too . I’m on my second 10 rounds of NG+ with another character and in every NG+ i have to go there to collect an Artifact .

The most rare encounter, at least for me, has been the Juno Gambit mission. I've done 2 complete playthroughs and only ever seen it once.

How many hours have you played? I ran in to this location about 8 times so far, Usually it won't show up from orbit and it is randomly generated. But you have to go to one of these that are marked for the UC Terrormorph quest. Usually the hill the mech graveyard is found on is exactly the same on all planets but has a different color. It is always oriented the same and a ship full of Spacers always lands to the north west.

Fairly common one for me, I’ve had it 5-6 times already with my new character, the cave at the very bottom of the hill the graveyard is located on usually has a box with several hundred credits in or an aid item

You're just finding the mech graveyard now? I've been there so many times because NG+ for Starborn powers sends you there multiple times. At least for me it did

I found a mech graveyard on Kreet on day one as a level 1 because I wandered off exploring instead if entering the tutorial base.

I've never found that icon from space view but I've come across like 40 of them while on the planet . The most interesting POI is the UC vanguard Garrison.

This location is in a quest line. There’s a robot inside a ship you have to revive.

Um FYI the mech graveyard is on many moons. Crappy places for xp and loot at all of them. These places are as enjoyable as the way too many everywhere collapsed mines and pipeline junctions. It was like Bethesda said "let's put a ton of the same nothing to gain locations everywhere while locations where our players can actually have fun in, kill sh*t, get loot and xp should be far and few" THAT MAKES SENSE BETHESDA.

The further I progress into the game, the more new stuff pops up. Even more legendary gear too. It’s like it’s given to higher level players only because Iike you, I have a lot of hours & this is all coming to fruition the higher I get.

there are more then one. this is the only you find from space. I used to land and explore planets and stumble on other mech graveyards. I don't really bother with it because they don't offer much anyway.

I found a couple unique Instances Traveling around the universe that you might wanna check out1 was a death cult I found a ship that wasn't responding to hail I went in the ship and there was a bunch of dead people drinking Juice boxes Also they had a tons of loot on the ship I think it was a major Easter egg I've something called the star children Cult Also I found a random AI spaceship Also I Found abandoned ship with a alien creature on it I had to battle😮

The difficulty could be set before you exit the ship on the planet, make sure the autosave is on.

To change the weather just run away from your ship till you can fast travel back. 9 out of 10 times the weather will clear up 👍🏻

What I find interesting on these videos is how most people don't even realise they're not playing the full game experience due to a major bug, and are playing on a broken save file. When you go to any system, there should be sensor contacts, derelicts, hostile vessels, and asteroid fields showing up on the star map. However, if you switch ships from the original Frontier, there's a high likelihood your game will break and these will stop appearing, and you'll have what we see here - barren systems with nothing but planets in them. Like playing Skyrim with half the dungeons missing. Swapping back to the Frontier is meant to fix it, but can fail to work on already explored systems. Bethesda apparently aware ... fix sometime coming maybe next Julember.

This is a hard one to find. But if you do find it, be sure to go into the round hab on location, as it has a contraband chest inside that contains up to 12 units of contraband.

seen terrormorphs fighting spacers and ecliptics in another instance, both happened just outside of new atlantis early in the game, even before starting the vanguard quest (which deals with terrormorphs). i was too quick to jump into unity so i still haven't seen aceles roaming planets, maybe this time i will wait :-)

How exciting and ground breaking. Too bad its not fun, and cheaply made. Zero satisfaction in scanning rocks. I put 62 hours before realizing how much fun i wasn't having. Crazy fallout 3 is 100x more fun, Skyrim is 150x more fun. Bethesda just doesn't have IT anymore. 76 was just a hint of what was to come.
