Top Rail …… your videos are very nice 👍 and your progress is coming along at a steady pace 😊 . The details add life to your layout and that is a real way to express yourself artistic . If I was doing the table…… remember to connect your yard lead to a single track main and like others ….. maybe add a passenger station and keep your track plan simple. 😎

Wow nice addition . Looking real good keep up the good work, you have sparked me to get back to work on my layout. Here is a tip on poles that I was shown from a guy in our Round Robin group is that the crossbars on 2 poles face one direction then the third faces away and so forth and so on. You can also use easy line comes in different colors and it is flex able that once super glued to the insulators on the poles you can press down and it returns to it shape. Look up Rob Carey N Scale Tennessess Pass DRGW there are 2 videos one with out poles and one with pole's. Every detail you add makes the stage for your trains more real. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next video. Tim

Great video TR and the static grass turned out great! I think there's just enough in front of the big building. I tell you something else that would add to it. Woodland Scenics Clump Foliage or Tufts. I'm going to randomly them between the rails like you'd see in real life. I really like the Birch trees you bought. Thanks again for sharing your videos and look fwd to seeing the next episode!

@@TopRailroad ABSOLUTELY my friend and just thought I'd share ideas w you like you do with us. And if you get the Tufts get the light color. And for the Clump Foliage get either the Medium or Dark Green.

I just love how the details tie everything together. I'd like to see you add led lighting to the layout at some point. Maybe you could get a small camera and mount it to a loco for an engineer veiw of the layout. I honestly like how chill and straight to the point your videos are . Reminds me of DJ's trains which is pretty awesome. Anyhow great job!!!

Are you going to have a doubletrack main line? I think it would be awesome (If the layout was big enough of course) if you added in an amtrak station and had an amtrak train on the layout as well. Great video, nice to finally see some grass & trees after 12 episodes 😂
@TopRailroad2 жыл бұрын
I’ll probably only have 1 main line track but adding a Amtrak train and station would be really cool. Thanks though and I agree 😂😂

You should get an HO Scale EMD SW1 Locomotive I think it would be a good addition to the layout & its good to have multiple switchers. always been a big fan of those. Miss seeing them work in the railroad yards.
@TopRailroad2 жыл бұрын
I might actually pick up a UP SW1 locomotive and paint it in a prototypical paint scheme. I love that style of locomotive! Thanks for the idea

I like your use of these HDX shelves, as they're cheap, lightweight and blend into the background. I notice they're also offered in 52" high. Did you consider using those?
@TopRailroad2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t, the extra height would be nice if I could get those
@Trainguy052 жыл бұрын
if you drill a small hole in the bottom of the tree, stop sign, telephone poles and insert a needle they go into the foam a lot easier and it doesn't leave a big hole in the foam incase you need or want to move anything
@TopRailroad2 жыл бұрын
I did want to do that when I put the trees in, I just don’t own one of those tiny tiny hand drill pencils yet.

@brettachey35742 жыл бұрын
You know back in the day telephone poles had glass insulators on them I have always thought about trying to paint the tips of them to see if it will come out good on the plastic telephone poles no I have seen this not on train layout but on tractor layout they would take sewing thread on top of the telephone pole to make it look like a telephone line you could try that and see how it comes out
@TopRailroad2 жыл бұрын
That is interesting. I do plan to paint the tips a silver on the poles and then add thread or something. That’ll be when I get closer to completion to avoid any accidents haha
@hadishd-fr3wh2 жыл бұрын
hey I got a tip. There’s this ho scale website that has fire sirens, you can use one of them, it will protect your ho scale population! (not really, it would just be a cool detail)
