We happened upon Dishoom when in Edinburgh this summer and enjoyed it so much that we ate at the London/Carnaby Street location a week later! Can't wait to go again when I'm next across the pond.

Oh I love this idea :D I've been to London with mum several times and we always go to an indian restaurant atleast once per trip, we've been to Dishoom several times! They have such a good masala tea that we often pop in just for that. Looking forwards to seeing new restaurants too. Side note: Making your chana masala today, found out it's very yummy in chapati wraps with mango chutney salad and raita.

Chetna just come home from Dishoom in kings cross, it is amazing! The food is superb and with my family celebrating 38 years married it was fab. Husband wants to know how they make the keema bau. Will have to visit again. Yum!

we ate at Dishoom when we visited London recently - I'm an incredibly fussy Indian food crtic - The food at Dishoom was mind-blowingly good. It's the best I've had anywhere in the world.

Weren't too keen on the breakfast, bit ott. I would rather have fried eggs instead of spiced scrambled eggs and plumb tomatoes out of the can. Rest of the menu is good

Its a kacchi biryani - biryani which is made with raw chicken and is all cooked together with rice.

1 cup water to 1 cup basmati?

For this, you don't need to make any measurements. Make sure there is enough water to cook the rice and not stick to the bottom while cooking, since you are only cooking till 70%. Rest of the cooking will be done with the steam from all the water content in the spiced chicken mixture.
