*Gorilla Lope is back on this channel! The day I hope you've been waiting for, seeing Gorilla Lope again. This is an introduction video to all the Gorilla males that are at the Zoo Bassin d'Arcachon in France and a surprise monkey addition. *

Looking at this you probably wondering why he was moved at an early age to another zoo. They moved the whole family together. Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park aren't very far apart and is run by the Aspinall Foundation.

My thoughts throughout the coming series of this male troops:
As previously noted by the Zoo, Dishi appears to be rather a softy, and I'm curious about his staying power. Lope has already started to pose a challenge, and we're all aware of Lope's strong-willed nature, as well as his lineage of formidable, imposing silverbacks destined for leadership.
Dishi should watch out.
At the moment, Lope is still trying his luck to see the silverback's reaction. He still respects him very much at feeding time when he doesn't get close and mostly stays away. They get fed in the same inside area, but feeding from above takes place in three different places. Dishi gets his down the bottom, and Lope up the top and Aybo up the top on the other site.
Lope looked very much more grown up not just physically, mentally as well. Aybo, the youngest, is the most playful, and to me, it seemed he liked Lope very much. He appeared to look up to Lope, always watching him, what he does, how he does it, and some playful antics with both the blackbacks. Not quite the same dynamic as Lope and Shufai, but there will definitely be some interaction between those two during the series. It was a surprise to see that they started to introduce the colobus monkeys to this troop! It couldn't have been long, as they still wouldn't come out properly, still getting used to their surroundings and only *testing the water*. I only saw them a couple of times a day. The Zoo was only open half days, but I stayed a few days to get as much footage as possible.
Awali's Troop was also fun to watch, as the troop was quite lively. As the two blackbacks are half-brothers, so they more comfortable with each other. It was also a bit heartbreaking as it made me think of Shufai and Lope together and wish it was them together having that much fun. What made this troop fun to watch as well was that they had a couple of Mangabey monkeys in with them. They are so cheeky and just love playing with the blackbacks, but what was even more special was one of the monkeys seemed to have befriended the Silverback.

It was quite emotional seeing him again😁. He's got so big. I know he grown a lot in his bachelor pad when he was still at Twycross, but now it's just unbelievable. He's got some great genes though. :-). Not sure if he did recognise me, but he did come quite close to the window and looked at me and felt comfortable being there.

@@SloggerVlogger ,Of course he did!! On those TV Zoo shows the Keepers said that Gorillas have amazing facial recognition of humans that come often. No doubt he knows and likes you. I saw on a Zoo Show and in other places that Gorilla's have such a good memory of faces that most of them will remember a Vet from previous exam and when they see the Vet, they get very aggressive and run around and hit cage where Vet is standing. The Keeper said they often must get a new Vet because of them remembering one from the past and try not to upset them. I think that darting they do to put them out is horrible. A lot of other Zoo's trained Gorillas to get shots/needles and IV for blood work also and that seems so much less stressful for the Gorillas because they know something negative is coming when they are separated from their family and a stranger with a pole is trying to dark them. Breaks my heart seeing them so sad and upset running from a dart. But , Lope knows you! I bet he was happy to see a old friend!

😊 I'm not sure he recognized me. He did come down and have a look and he was comfy enough to be in front of the window a couple of times. So that made me happy. He looked very well. Grown quite a bit again since I've seen him. He's testing the silverback already and Aby the other blackback seems quite font of him, always watching Lope to see what he's doing. Overall it seems a good place to be, there is a couple of things that bugged me, nothing that couldn't be corrected and I'm on the case to see if the zoo responds and something can be done. It might be silly, but there was a big metal gate behind there enclosure, every time a visitor goes through it made a horrendous sound all day long. I'm sure if they use some buffers or something they could eliminate it. The other thing was that bugged me was that they weren't allowed to go out yet, even though the weather was quite nice, but there might have been a good reason for that. Maybe they weren't quite finish outside or the colobus monkey's still had to be eased in slowly. I would have tried to ask with my translator app 😂, but I didn't see anyone out front to answer any questions, just the keepers backstage through a window. I was quite lucky with my visit as well as they closed the zoo totally after my visit because it flooded ( animals were fine and re-opened yesterday I believe) , so if that would have happened when I was there I wouldn't have seen him at all.

🤣😂 Another trip isn't on the plan for the foreseeable future, see how this series goes first😊. Unfortunately this trip got a bit in trouble already with my accountant. So hopefully it was worth it and lots of people watching the series. ( for me it was definitely worth it , sadly that's not enough. Hey SV! When I saw that Colobus Monkey, I thought, " Lope is gonna have fun with him!" I can just imagine what is going through Lope's mind! LOL! "What the hell is that??! "Well, I will just have to check out what that furry thing is and show him my moves! Maybe he can help me steal some food from that big Silverback! I will make him my little partner in crime! I'm gonna run & rock this new group." Then with Aybo, doesn't it seem like they are in an intense conversation? Lope is sharing his background with his new Buddy, Aybo, and Aybo is just fascinated with Lope's past.. Lope lays it on thick with his new room mate as he loves to share his Stupefying Stories and off he goes..... Lope: "Well, yeah, I was always amazing. My family may say I'm a bit of a Rascal, but I was born with many gifts and when you are a Boy of such skills, it is hard not to be demonstrative of them and sharing all my extraordinary and dazzling military maneuver's. Usually leaving my family a bit breathless and a bit frightened of me. So, you see, I kind of ran things because they knew I could move quickly, like a Jungle Cat and give a deadly blow at any time. Yes, my friend, I was feared, but, just between us, I'm quite the jokester and don't use my powers unless I feel there is no other course of action. I also am quite the dancer, I can spin like a Top with such grace and I can dive head 1st down hills without a scratch. **( Aybo's mouth is open and his eyes are so big as he is listening to Lope's stories, he is completely dumbfounded and so impressed by what Lope is telling him. Maybe he is even feeling a bit of a "Man/Boy Crush" for Lope because he just seems so amazing!! )** Lope: Don't worry, just stay chilled out and you will be fine. I may even teach you some of my mind-blowing moves,. OH and Listen to this, I walk bi-pedal, just like the Humans do and, well, to be honest, I have a strut that puts them to shame. You see, I have music that plays in my mind when I strut, so, I look very impressive, Like John Travolta in that dance Movie, yeah, you know the one. Well, I have even see some human girl & Women visitors stare at me in a way that was very lustful. Like the way we stare and get excited towards the Keepers when they give us our favorite treats. Yeah, that way. Scary a bit. I was a bit bashful at 1st, but then It was a bit thrilling knowing I brought them such obvious excitement simply by strutting my "Sweet Stuff" in front of them. AND they often seemed to be breathing very heavily at my struts resulting in the glass being very fogged and at times some needed to faint cause they were overheated and so dizzy. I think my Human staff had to put a warning sign for Humans that my Strutting may cause an unusual overload of lustful emotions that could lead to unexpected dizziness, tingling breathlessness and fainting. Yes, I was loved by all back home. Even Daddy knew not to push me too much as he was fearful of reaching the "point of no return" where my combat moves would automatically take over leaving me helpless to control the severe Damage bestowed upon him. Oh yes, I have many tales to sharer but I don't want to overwhelm or terrorize you so soon. Just stay on my good side and we will get along great. As long as my temper is tickled, if so, just BEWARE! OK, you just let all I shared register and sink in slowly as I know it is a lot hearing about all my many talents and sex status with human girls. I can continue more about me and my many talents and accomplishments another day. I know you need rest now and I can see by the amazed and wide eyed look you have on your face you may need a bit of medical attention..are you okay??!Can you speak? Back then, I was wondering if you "Got it" ( My Comment, Story, craziness I posted ) because as American humor can differ from other countries and be misunderstood & I was so happy to read you'r reply of not only understanding my, "007, Lope-Bond", "Secret Agent" & other Silly Lope scenario's, but they were a fun way to start the day. As always you were always so kind , thoughtful & patient to me ( and all who commented on your videos ) that meant so much to me and always answering question and giving such detail and facts to educate us on each video. You give wonderful descriptions!!! Thank you so much for the joy bring me and everyone watching! The hard work and editing/presentation is top notch and you have such talent to have grown so much and touched so many with the magic you create!! Oh, wanted to mention, there is another page I subscribed to that you may know (Jenny Van Klei as she has videos from Rotterdam Zoo/ Diergaarde Blijdorp.) With Aybo growing up there and she having many video's through the years of him growing up, I just thought it would be nice to get some info. on his behaviors/personality with any funny quirks, like Lope with his funny habits. ( I shared some with her of Lope and about your page ) I left a comment on a video "Aybo Show", but may try and email her in FB if she is a member. ( I havent been on FB and don't go on often, not sure what pages/friends I have now, memory shot ) and I'm sure she gets a ton of new comments daily and may not get to them all. Especially such an old video of him (2018) She is very nice and I think she could share a little about Aybo.I have only seen the a few of the Videos you have shared with Aybo and Lope and I always love to lean about any new Gorillas I watch and how followers describe them. ( It's fun, right? ) and I just think Aybo seems ( In my opinion ) like a really sweet and playful Gorilla-Boy. He seems like he will follow Lope around and enjoy getting into mischief with him and driving the Silverback crazy together. I think they will be buddies and bring us a lot of laughter together.I'm so glad and relieved that Lope is doing well in his new home and may have another funny Friend to have fun with. Yes, British humour and American humour are quite different, but that doesn't matter. Each has its own charm, wit, and unique way of tickling our funny bones. After all, variety is the spice of life, isn't it? Besides, who doesn't love a good laugh, regardless of where it comes from? I haven't seen any videos of Jenny Van Klei, but I will look her up in a bit. Would love to know more about Aybo and don't you dare ever write a one-sentence comment! 😂🤣, I need your humour!

I totally agree....maybe Granny Biddy and Aunt Asante can pick up the slack left by Lope's move....wish Twycross Zoo would consider getting another young gorilla for Shufi

Poor Biddy seems to take most of the slack. Even though Oumbi has started taking some of it and wrestling with his son. I wish I would know more what they have planned for the troop. I do believe something needs to change. I never really thought of this and not sure if that would be possible, maybe if there won't be a baby, a young female would be the option for the troop.
