This is probably why Kult of Athena has the option of adding sharpening to your order. Many of these lower price point blades are lazily sharpened.

using little swords this size 2 handed will significantly limit your reach thats why most swords that were intended for 2 handed use were much longer

Japanese water stones are preferred, but the other sharpeners can work also.

These forges play fast and loose with the word "sharp." I know they know how to make them sharp, as I have gotten very sharp swords form them before, but we need to keep on them or they get lazy.

Dude, so just sharpen the dang thing. I use a Ken Onion Deluxe Work sharp. with angle guide. Works great. It will put a good edge on a butter knife if I wanted too. And the short sword, yeah, easy peezy to sharpen.

He will. He was obviously showing us how sharp it comes when purchased. Believe me, this man needs zero advice on how to get a blade razor sharp. 🔪

Thank you, Johnzillah. I do not know how he managed to interpret my video as discouraging sharpening or why he assumed I was not going to sharpen this. I just got this sword and was excited to make a video with first cuts. When the sword turned out to not be as advertised, I was honest about that. Everything Johnzillah pointed out was exactly correct.
