I had hideous SIBO, not diagnosed but I know with the humongous burps that smelled like eggs and the constipation/diarrhea and the worst bloating I have EVER experienced. I had heard about carnivore and the great success of many with their digestive issues. I resisted a while because I just couldn't imagine not having all of my fruits and veggies but my condition was just so extreme, keeping me up at night and everything, I finally relented and tried carnivore. I kid you not, OVERNIGHT, my symptoms improved 99%!!! I was STUNNED to say the least. Carnivore worked for me so I will stick with it.

I agree with another person who commented that this “new” diet isn’t really new at all. Dr Gotschall wrote Breaking The Vicious Cycle many decades ago and it covers these same topics/same symptoms. The GAPS diet book is also a way if eating that stops feeding the bad bacteria, just as these doctors suggest, and it’s based on many of the same principles as the first book I mentioned. The problem is that doctors don’t learn this stuff in medical school !! So they think they need to reinvent the wheel. Big pharma lobbies to modify medical school curriculums in such a way that doctors only learn how to prescribe pharmaceutical meds now, instead of how to actually HEAL people with food choices.

The title of this clip is The New Sibo Diet (low fermentation foods). This diet is far from new in the SIBO world. The problem with doctors is they are still "symptomologists." They know the symptoms, BUT that's what they treat. They treat the SIBO that the patient has instead of treating the patient who has SIBO. Identifying root cause(s) and risk factors is paramount in eradicating SIBO. Risk factors that the patient may have is another qualifier. Doctors who do treat SIBO make it out to be all about diet. The main goal should be identifying what caused the overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine and how to correct it. Yes, diet is essential. But the excessive bacteria, whether beneficial or not, must be identified and corrected. Following a diet without understanding the cause will only lead to sustaining "willpower" over empowerment. The bottom line is that significant cause(s) must be identified and corrected. One of the major causes is hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid), which has many causes and leads to many health ailments. SIBO takes work and is complicated- BUT it's also very understandable and reversible. 😉
@lapelcelery42 Жыл бұрын
Is it not the case that current thinking puts the leading cause down as anti-vinculin antibodies following food poisoning, which is not reversible (but which is treatable at the symptom level)?
@docsibo6197 Жыл бұрын
@@lapelcelery42, it sure does slow down the MMC (migrating motor complex), especially phase 3. Then it's the WHY did vinculin-ab occur in the first place. The body also produces antibodies against cytolethal distending toxin B (Cdt-b), which damages the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC), which are crucial in signalling the muscles when to relax (release NO) and help to establish the organized electrical rhythm of the forces (e.g., in the gut). There's a test on the market for this called the IBS-SMART test. I have never ordered one for anyone, but I read up on it, and it seems legit.
@leamaka2082 Жыл бұрын
@@docsibo6197 Thank you Doc! I too would like to know how you reverse it. However, I understand that there is not “a one size fits all.” Is SIBO the same thing as “Candida Albicans?” If you would, please let me know. Thank you.
@docsibo6197 Жыл бұрын
@@leamaka2082 SIBO is bacterial, and Candida is fungal. They both have similar symptoms and require different treatments. A large majority of people who suffer from SIBO also have Candida. It so happens that I have separated both and created mind maps on each. Mind mapping presents the perfect opportunity to take a complicated idea or problem and break it down, organize and categorize it to its bare essentials so that it can be learned and understood in a far more effective and efficient way. The bottom line is intestinal microbes are our builders of good health and poor health. These microbes are also divided into many different species and strains. In a healthy person, the beneficial microbes and their strains dominate the intestinal tract, with a limited population found in the small intestine. In contrast, the majority are located in the large intestine. What we need to do in unhealthy people is focus on repopulating the beneficial microbes to crowd out the non-beneficial microbes while keeping the small intestine limited to the number of beneficial microbes and their strains. Overall, the fundamentals are the same in terms of eradicating a bacterial and/or fungal overgrowth, but we always have to keep in mind that we all have our own unique biochemistry and so we have to focus on treating the patient that has a disease rather than treating the disease that the patient has. I hope this makes sense. “All disease begins in the gut” Hippocrates said this 2000 years ago. 👍

Prior to starting antibiotic treatment it is adviseable to undergo a period of taking a bio-film disruptor. The bacteria in the small intestine can form a bio-film aroung their colony to protect themselves from attack by antibiotics so a bio-film disruptor attacks this protective film so that the antibiotics can do their job.

Firstly, get another doctor whose ego is kept in check, and he or she realizes they don't know everything and that we are all students and constantly learning. If it's out of the scope of their practice, it doesn't exist. Everything medical doctors learned in Rockefeller-owned and funded med schools is based on the diagnosis of a "disease" and treatment with drugs. They're not trained in a systems-based way of thinking; instead, they are trained in a symptoms-based way of thinking. SIBO is linked with almost every disease, disorder, syndrome, and most health ailments BECAUSE disease starts in the gut. The only way to deal with gut issues is to look at the cause(s) and risk factors. Even most NDs will treat the disease that the patient has instead of treating the patient who has the disease. You have a unique biochemical makeup that's specific to you, which must be understood. Throwing drugs and/or supplements into your body is like playing Russian Roulette and even creating other health issues and being dangerous. Finding out WHY you have SIBO is the only way to reverse this process and avoid reoccurrences.

@@coleyod yes, I have tried the gut motility products including ginger and artichoke. I have studied the MMC and have taken antimicrobial herbs, taken xifaxan, eaten a low FODMAP diet, etc. I feel like I exhausted all the things I know to try, with minor relief. For me, my biggest symptom is bloating. However, if I keep eating vegetables and fiber, I do experience some pain in digestion as well. My symptoms are completely gone when I eat the carnivore diet. I should say a dairy free carnivore diet. If I eat a little too much dairy, I will bloat some. So for now, I'm on the carnivore diet and feel great. I was hoping to cure this just so I could have some vegetables or fruit every now and then, but until I can figure it out, I'm just sticking to carnivore. It really is amazing that it cures me 100%. I have noted that there is a suggestion to go carnivore. Based on all the studies of a meat based diet it seems that curing SIBO with a diet that promotes heart disease makes little sense.
@larrysummers89662 жыл бұрын
What study proves meat based diets promote heart disease? I haven't found a single study tracking a carnivore diet. All these studies you speak of, follow people eating a standard western diet of, yes meat, but also high sky intake of sugars/carbs and plant oils, which are in 80%+ of all packaged foods. The day there are numerous studies tracking a carnivore diet and it's long term affects, then your comment will be correct. But right now, 2022, you are incorrect.

@@larrysummers8966 If you eat cholesterol you are raising the amount of cholesterol in the blood. Cholesterol is linked to more heart disease. That is what the science says. But everyone has different limits. What kills one will only injure another. Use caution with extreme diets like carnivore.
@lapelcelery42 Жыл бұрын
Not really. If the food you are eating is making you permanently sick (or for example if SIBO is giving you permanent racing heart and systemic inflammation, as it is often an immune problem) a carnivore diet can be the only thing that improves your health. I was almost doing it myself (not by choice) for years as the only things I could eat without becoming too sick to function were meat and cheese, and my cholesterol remained only slightly elevated during that period (doctor said above average, but low enough not to worry about), with no other ill signs. If you are doing carnivore it would pay to do it under a doctor's supervision, and to have bloods done every six months, but there is mounting evidence that it can help a lot of conditions by eliminating diet as a factor. And in any case, it would be up to the individual to trade the risk of heart disease, and the ability to monitor the signs with modern technology, vs the quality of life they have under SIBO or whatever other ailment they hope to cure with carnivore.
