SIBO is a common condition that causes symptoms like bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and even malnutrition. The human body contains trillions of microbes that live with us in harmony. Normally, our small intestine has few microbes relative to the large intestine. In small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, or SIBO, the delicate balance is disrupted by a disproportionate overgrowth of certain bacteria in the small intestine. In this talk, we discussed what we can do to know if someone has SIBO as well as what treatment options can be offered to resolve it.

This info has to get out to more doctors and especially gastroenterologists!!! My own MD told me that about 50% of the gastroenterologists she works with don’t even acknowledge SIBO!!! As a former SIBO patient and current SIBO advocate, this infuriates me. Sooooo many folks are suffering with SIBO and can’t even get a proper diagnosis or appropriate treatment. I’m on a mission to educate patients and practitioners but so much more needs to be done at a much higher level.

How do we find a GI doc/SIBO practitioner in our area (Austin, TX). I have been to several GI docs in Austin without any positive results in reducing/curing my IMO. They just don't have the latest information. :(

I have sibo with constipation and slow motility. After a bowel movement I get very gassy in my intestines and my intestines burn is this related to sibo also?

WHEN bacteria ferment glucose for example the side product is co2 or H2 so this test based on detecting level of hydrogen that is being produced by bacteria
