I already pre-ordered the lens because I shoot mainly landscapes, so, it should be a great addition to my arsenal. The camera does have correction built in to things that you are seeing, plus, software will correct anything else.

Hey man, great review. Im curious as to what gimbal you used this lens on? Im having troubles with my Ronin SC and the cameras view finder hitting the gimbal. Thanks!

This is the original Ronin S. You have a just adjust it as you go but you want to make sure it’s balanced properly first anyway and go from there.

Just wondering since you are shooting on a A7iii also, I just got the Ronin SC and would like to know if this Lens would work on that gimbal? I really like the lens but if it won't work on the SC then I will have to go with the Samyang 14mm 2.8. sure would appreciate your thoughts
@BrandonLuckain5 жыл бұрын
Curious about the same but on a Weebill S. Right now I use the non art 12-24 sigma and a Tokina 11-16mm for photo/video respectively. Would love to combine the two!

The photos were overexposed, i usually set the histogram on my screen to see the correct exposure before clicking the shutter and adjust the shadows later in LR. I hope this helps. Anyway, thanks for the reviews I just ordered this lens excited for it this weekend!!

Hi, have you ever had Tamron 17-28mm ? Im more considering to buy Tamron because of the weight. Sigma is almost 3 times of Tamron weight. lol
@DavisInDuval5 жыл бұрын
SMOKEYoriginalHD Check our my last video as well, I think I talk a bit about it. But no I haven’t. Tamron lenses seem to work well but are too plastic-y for me!
@royzargo86425 жыл бұрын
it's just double the weight, not 3 times. Also for real estate and wedding photography, Tamron is not good enough. I got both lenses but I send Tamron back and kept Sigma which is better color contrast and sharper lens plus the range is much better 14mm instead of 17meh. I was thinking to keep Tamron for gimbal work only but didn't really want to pay $900. If you do street photography youtube.......then Tamron is fine.
@SMOKEYoriginalHD5 жыл бұрын
@@royzargo8642 thanks for this info. I bought A7III just for a personal use from passion and maybe later I might try to get some money out of it but as you said the color contrast is better then I would go for that one. I want to shoot nature for now and in general photos of buildings and so on. Just a random stuff. But it's true those 14mm are much wider. I would love to see some comparison on KZbin with Tamron and Sigma side by side. I'm considering the Sigma now.
@feeltheeffect855 жыл бұрын
@@SMOKEYoriginalHD did you decide? Im having trouble cant find a comparison between the two
@SMOKEYoriginalHD5 жыл бұрын
@@feeltheeffect85 I'm still thinking about Sigma. But Sigma is not released officially yet. It should be released in the beginning of October so I will wait till someone will make more comparison videos. But another thing why Im thinking about Sigma is those 14mm vs Tamron 17mm. The only thing that kinda bothers me are filters on Sigma. Btw about the weights, its 800g, its just double the weight of Tamron. That is fine, I thought its 1100g but that was the old Sigma, not the new one that I looked up.

You can see vignetting in photographs but not in video because camera auto correct for the vignetting, chromatic abbreviation and probably distortion as well.

Thanks for a great review, really considering buying this lens, just can't decide between Tamron 17-28 and this one. You can put ND-filter to this lens. But not to the front because of protruding front element. Filters are attached to the rear part of the lens. I think Irix makes gelatin ND-filters that should be compatible with this lens.

@@DavisInDuval it certainly crops the top and bottom of the frame to go from a 3:2 aspect ratio to 16:9. That should be enough to get rid of the vignetting in the extreme corners.
