From the back too. Those lights connected with a chrome stripe really made it feel premium. There is just something in the old Superb that makes you feel it's presence, power. It's majestic.

Well, you do get those 3 rotating buttons that control volume, climate and so on... It's a big step up from Octavia. Though I must say I do dislike these "floating screens". The old had them more seamlessly integrated

not really...some example of the competitors in EU in the same segment are Toyota Camry / Lexus ES - the first is 25% cheaper in its top config compared to Superb base price (no leather, no 4x4 etc), the second is comparable pricewise. Gosh, even the WV Passat is 10-15% cheaper and it the same vehicle

@@lumajs I am Czech and I bought Passat (B8) over Superb (third generation) simply because it was cheaper and also better car than Superb so it was an easy choice. I think Czech Republic must be one of the few countries in the world where Skoda is more expensive than VW as Skoda knows we are patriots and are willing to pay extra money to drive Skoda.

In 2018, Superb was already better than the corresponding Passat in all engine choices etc. Check any comparison from that time, all the non Czech ones will agree, along with majorities of commenters under such videos. Skoda was arguably ahead of the Passats already in the previous generation. The comment about patriotism is upside down, too. Czechs are demonstrably one of the least patriotic and most masochist nations in criticizing their own nation in the world.

Skoda, Audi and Vw share the lineup basically. You're paying for the brand and get basically the same setup. They share floor platforms, engines, infotainment systems, electrics. You just choose which brand / looks / ergonomics you like more. It makes sense once you realise that. Your comment is a proof to why this happens. You do not see the vehicle, you see the brand. They know that, so they choose to make the process simpler and cheaper, so they can make more money off from people like you.

The " new" Superb is just a simple facelift, but with obvious cost reductions! What costs more: a picture frame on the dashboard or a screen integrated in the dashboard? It is enough to carefully study the previous model and the current one, and you will find that the last one is cheaper! But more expensive!

Can you compare it with Dacia Jogger? Why would one decide to buy Superb when Jogger has more boot space and half the price. What are some of the must have features that Superb has that makes up that price difference. Which one would you choose for 10k per year and if you needed big boot space for family and a dog.

@@RokVercic definitely, i would expect it to have a good ride. skoda always had a very good ride and i know because i have a mk 3 octavia 180 tsi with independent rear suspension and 17 inch wheels and it's very comfortable over bad road and in general very comfortable. but the mark of a premium car is comfort AND dynamics. And i doubt skoda could add dynamics to a platform that is not meant for dynamics by simply using some better dampers and springs. you can't do that technically, you need a different suspension geometry. so 60-70k for a car that has macpherson on the front and just independent, not multilink on the back is.... also, the suspension is not the only problem. engine is tranverse. gearbox is the bog standard transverse dsg. the only benefit that this car has is more kit and more space vs a premium car, but this was also the case with superb 3 and that was way way cheaper.

@@BobsUp83 because Skoda is a low cost brand hence it has low cost materials and manufacturing techniques vs a premium brand. For example, under the bonnet there is no paint, you have exposed metal rails on the door, on every premium brand those are covered with plastics. There are more examples.

I tested Octatia IV for year, saddly ,new superb is too similair - same horible steering, wheel, awfull infotaiment, touch operated lamps (so stupid idea, are quite warm, fingerprint after 1 use so ugly, Skoda, whyyyy repeating same issues?
