This is pure luxury. Reasonable and responsible luxury. Wonderful for 4 adult people and their luggage on a long trip. Superb in every aspect: Design, space, comfort, moderate performance and a fair price. My favourite extra would be the seat heating for the back passengers. It's a pity I don't need a car for four adults. I would like this real S class!

i'm late to the party, but i just wanted to say that i bought my 2017 2.0TDI (150hp) quartz grey Superb Limousine at 65.000 km in February this year. i started looking for big, but affordable cars back when my wife got pregnant and checked out a lot of car reviews. This reviewer (and channel) almost single-handedly persuaded me into buying a Superb over a used E-class, 5 series, Mondeo or Passat. My Superb Style variant's got p. much got all the extras the L&K would have, apart from the DCC and soundsystem. I'm enjoying the car a lot, and in retrospect, the only thing i'd change is going for the 190hp version instead - but i'll probably bring it to the shop in the upcoming months and get it up to that level. in short: thanks Autogefühl.

Like I said before, contrary to the last gen, the sedan version looks better now in my opinion. Which is remarkable considering it's a transverse FWD architecture. Had they trimmed the inner window frames premium-style like Peugeot or Ford do, it would be absolutely flawless then again in dark grey metallic you won't notice.

Hi specification Skoda, like this, comes very close to Audi A6 prices. The lower spec cars with 1.4 150ps has peerless value. It is quite a light car too for its size.

Great, detailed review as always and the car is a massive improvement on the previous generation. I would just like to ask about the glossy interior trim that you see in a lot of VW group cars right now. You have mentioned in one of your reviews that it is susceptible to finger prints, but what about scratching. How is it wearing over time? I am also surprised that manufacturers do not add the safety mechanism for the boot lid closing/opening. Having an electronic release and not adding obstacle detection feature seems a bit odd. By the way, have you checked the windows, would they stop closing if there is something in the way? Some of the new cars I have tried don't have this, while it is included in a trusty 10 year old Volvo that my family owns. Looking forward to your insight on this matter and again, great job on the review.

Hello sir, once again very nice review. Just some information for you. Sensor works only for opening back doors. You always have to press the button or the key to close it. But yes even when opening, you really need to know exactly where is the sensor as the range of sensor is really small and that caused it failed to many times. I personally tested both version last week. The only problém I see is the head room on rear seats. Sedan looks much pretier for me but head room is for me very disapointing. I am 189cm tall and it is really no chance to sit comfortable. In combi version I dont have same problem. I dont really understand why is it such a problem to make enough head room for Skoda even for sedan version. And here come my request for you. Can you please make comparison between new superb vs new passat. Just show the main differences. Would be amazing. Keep your great work sir, I am your big fan :) Roman from Czech Republic :)

As owner of previous Skoda Superb Estate/Combi DSG.This car is simple best value for your money on market terms size of car price and quality. In 2011 i drove from UK to Greece and back and i enjoy it very much car was fantastic :) I would say that things i wish are bigger.4 example fuel tank only 60 liters.That could be bigger 70 or 80L.Look all cars under VW suffer from small fuel tanks Also more power that will (pock in eye VW and Audi) I can really feel the weight of car in corners partially in Austria when i was overtaking in corners back of car becoming nervus. Thomas l am SOLD. i like that i can now get 4x4 190HP DSG Estate. New car is lighter by 80kg and they offer bigger fuel tank as option i think which great:) Thomas thank you great review.

***** Sound insulation is good, it's just that all Volkswagen corporation Golf models have that 'bumping' on the rear axle when you go over some bumps. Doesnt really matter technically, but is a lil bit annoying ... same for Octavia, Golf and Leon. But in general, I can really recommend those 3 cars

There is 2 775 EUR price difference between L&K and Style level in Czech Rep. But you get almost 5 500-6 000 EUR more in optionals in L&K against Style. Everyone has to check if he needs adaptive cruise control, DCC suspension, self parking assistent, rear view camera, leather seats, etc. which are standard in L&K. If yes, it has no sense to take Style.

Volvo electric seats have manual back rest release, so there are two levers underneath the rear side of the passenger seat, where the seat rails are, you pull those and the seat goes down, i don't know about the superb, but you can check that area...by the way, great review, the new superb looks superb/awesome:)

I'm really liking your reviews and have watched with great interest your videos on the new Superb. I have a 2010-version of the Superb Combi and are very pleased with it. One thing though that I am not pleased with are the head-room both in the front, but especially in the back. I cannot fit in the back an the head-room is too low for my 194cm. As I understand this is one of the improvements in the new Superb? I believe you touched on this in this video, but is it true that the head-room is better in the estate-version than the combi-version in the new Superb? Another problem for tall people in the old Superb is that the sight line from the drivers seat out the front video is obstructed by the inside-mirror when looking to the right out of the front window. Is this any different in the new version?

jtryland101 I found the seats a lil small for tall people. Headroom was very good imho, the estate offers more headroom in the rear, front headroom is both the same. But before buying/changing you should check it our yourself at the dealer. What is clear that you cannot go for the panoramic roof with 194 !

Don't understand the fuss for leather and the need to show as much leather as possible once the car gets more and more expensive. Looking forward to see memory foam seats replacing dead animals skin. Koenigsegg already implemented this technology in their cars and I can only imagine that they're brilliant. Thomas must be the only reviewer criticising the extensive use of leather in cars.

Superb review for the superb.... now Is the Smart link a valuable feature in new autos? yes I think it is very nice to have this feature... the pick is that after a year or two you can get easy bored from your every day infotainment system (regardless of the built quality) unlike smart phones software there are always something new always updates. I guess automakers did a smart job in targeting the link with smart phone apps to add a slightly customized look and it comes very handy and cost effective as well no need for shedding extra money over a built in navigator as you will have the google navigation. think you can get access to your favorite mobile apps including texting in a 8 inch screen at the long wasted time in traffic jam . whether it is smartlink or mirror link or car net or android auto , car play , hondalink...etc i think it is the future and i would certainly love to see your review

You can order this car with 15 mm increased suspension and protector shields ('rough road package' in some markets). I really in love Superb and the ground clearance is the only thing I can complaint but with these package you can have a very practical car in everydays. Expecially in Eastern/Middle European roads where I roam the most. I would choose Škoda Superb with this package every time instead of an SUV!

You forget, that seats in this trim level are ventilated, so your comment them beig hot in summer and cold in winter, are not exactly correct. I guess the problem with the boot door opening with your leg is, that you are not patient enough to wait it to start function. You should make the move and step back to wait for couple of seconds. Starting to play as Messi does not help ;). There's one not so funny aspect to these automatic doors. You really need to remember to close the central locking before you go to car wash, or it's going to be wet experience ;). And there's millions of us having dogs as family members, so liftback is not an option for us. I also happen to like more the look of estate version. I like your reviews a lot! Really like this new Combi! But the brown interior on L&K just doesn't work with me, I preferred the grey leather they had on Octavias few years back. About the front seat trick, maybe you can fold flat (toward the back, as if you wanted to sleep) the upper part of the front passenger seat? Not fan of the crystal effect in the headlight, but that's about it. Cant wait to see and test drive the 280hp in France

Hi. I had a test drive in one of those about 1 month ago and I discovered that after you get past 120 kmh/h on a motorway, then some strange noise appears. It was coming from side mirrors area and I think it was caused by wind passing by side mirrors. Was a bit strange because Octavia did not had that problem with so much noise from wind. It (strange noise) appeared only after 120khm/h. When I dropped the speed below that it disappeared again. Did You had that problem on Your test drive?P.S. Sorry for my English, I hope You understand what I am asking :)

Thanks ! The skoda's seller was not sure. He told me he was driving a Fabia with the ACC, but even with it he sometimes had to brake by himself to avoid the car going too fast while driving downhill. Other question : do you think the 1.8 FSI 180 hp with DSG is a smart choice ?

Auswählbar ist beige/beige; braun/beige und braun/grau. Nach grau sieht es im Video nicht aus aber es kann auch täuschen wenn man mit dem Konfigurator vergleicht. Aber ich denke es wird wirklich eher beige sein. Vielen Dank für die Antwort!

Halo Thomas! :) I would like to ask You about comparision between Passat and Superb. I would like to buy B8 Limousine Comfortline 1.4 TSI ACT or Superb Style Limousine 1.4 TSI ACT. Price are more/less the same. (approx. 25k-26k€ What about driving quality? What about noise level inside these cars? I have read on Polish Passat Forum that people choose Passat because VW got better seats than Superb. What are Your feelings regarding this issue? Thank You in advance

+Krychol Hi! We ll try to arrange that as you are not the first one asking :) Sounds like good price/performance choices you are going for there. Quality is the same and also noise level is not such a difference ... a bit better in the Passat. Indeed one main difference is that tall people get better along with the seats of the Passat. How tall are you?

***** I've checked some reviews and the difference between Passat and Superb was approx. 2 dB less for Passat. I'm 190 cm :) In PL we shall wait for Superb Limousine even up to 5 months :/, for Passat (1.4 TSI ACT) - 2 months. For almost same money Passat will be a little better equipped. (Style vs Comfortline).

Well, I think it's meant to be used with hands full of things so you can't open the car without dropping them. But agree, you don't need to have car always locked when you have hands full of stuff, should work also with car unlocked. Better system in my opinion is the one which detects you're standing (or key is located) behind the fifth door for some time and opens the hatch by itself, without waving leg under car. (not sure which car maker uses this but I'm sure there is some) Btw. missing "closing safety stop" in case of something in the way of hatch is a pure fail, it can seriously injure somebody, especially little kids.
