The thing that you have to understand is that its a bloody game . The M4 , Kar , SKS etc old sounds are basic part of the game and have been there for so long. M4 and Kar sounds are almost iconic to every player. Changing those is an idiotic move, by giving the logic that the sounds are now more realistic. They only changed it because they just want to show that they are doing something , rather than doing something useful
