Every time Garrett was like “man I just love the scenes where the characters sit around and relax and just talk to each other,” every one of us was waiting for this scene.

Yup. Him saying (I think to Jesse Cox asking about Endwalker predictions) that he wanted a scene just like this, made me really happy. Both in the "oh boy, you're in for a treat" sense, and also in the "it's great to see people empathize so much with the characters, that they want to spend more time getting to know them" sense.

Speaking from knowing the touch of depression: When Zenos spoke about the burning heat of the moment and then the void that followed.. I don't think the void was his death. I think the void was, upon returning, finding that the heightened state of emotion and actually *feeling* something for once, that he'd experienced during the fight.. had faded back into the greyness and tedium of normality. Life is the void, for him, a choking tedium from which there is no escape.. except in that one, perfect, glorious moment. That's why he says the future holds nothing for him; he has no hope, no way to conceive of a world where anything matters but that moment. And so the only reason to continue existing at all, is to recreate it. He'll do anything to get that moment back, with us.. *anything.*

The dinner choice makes sense once you realize it's two teenagers and an overly indulgent senior citizen.

Yeah, when we're touring the city with Graha and Kryle in the beginning, he says how he always wanted to try one of their burgers. But funds and time never allowed. From his perspective, he's been waiting nearly two centuries to finally try that burger.

The point of the exposition is, though, that Akasha specifically is NOT 'magic' or rather Aether... Estinien is really the poster-boy for the Introvert Friend. He'll come along, he'll grumble as well, he WILL be there for you. But he NEEDS a little time alone now and then to recharge emotionally.

Totally relatable. I'll come along for a little bit, but ultimately I do need the time apart.

All the meal scenes in the MSQ, from ARR onwards, are so wholesome and some of my favorite scenes. Just hanging out goes a long way towards bonding my with the scions.

I will say, as Montichaigne suggests, Qih Aliapoh's crafter/gatherer questlines are definitely worthwhile too. They're generally small personal stories that vary on the silly/wholesome scale.

There is something so beautiful and captivating about that Fandaniel and Zenos scene. A Joker-esque nihilist and a depressed, but somewhat hopeful guy interacting with one another talking about the meaning of existence and their life. Its interesting actually.

People mentioned at the start that people during ARR had no memory of the Warrior of Light and who they were; they had at best a fuzzy recollection. The explanation given to us in these cutscenes regarding memory manipulation is an allusion to that, as, if you were a legacy player, you would essentially be the person the people forgot existed.

I got the impression from Montchainge's explanation was that the mass memory loss was an accident not something Louisoix did deliberately. It's just something that naturally happens when you have large quantities of aether being tossed around. It's basically a biological EMP that prevents the formation of long term memories..

Endwalker came out in 2021. I think if you are watching this and are afraid of spoilers, that’s a personal problem. I don’t think the warning is necessary anymore
