Bastien sang with Home Free before they were on The Sing-Off. He was singing with them when Rob joined them about 2009. He was part of the 2nd string that filled in when the main group was filming The Sing-Off. Bastien has his own style and energy of his own very different from Austin. I am eager to see what comes next.

Well none of us wanted Austin to quit. It was his decision. He is newly married and wanted to stay home and start a family. Good for him but sad for us. Adam Bastien (pronounced Bass-teen) sounds good to me. He sang on the Voice and also for 7th Avenue band with Chris Rupp (Adam Rupp’s brother). Bastien fit right in with HF I think. I hear he also writes music so we’ll have to stay tuned for more Bastien!!

Comparing Bastien to Austin is only natural, but it’s not really fair so I’m trying not to. The guys would never choose someone that didn’t fit the group. He’s from Detroit, and doesn’t have a southern accent. The sound is going to be different. I hope they spend a little time on Motown. ❤ It’s easy to see the guys are having fun and feeling inspired. I can’t wait to see what’s next… When I need an energy boost it’s the HF “stomp & clap” songs I choose. 😂 So good to see your smile. Sending prayers. F*ck cancer.

Bastien seems to breathing new life into the group. Time will tell. I understand your concern about replacing Austin, I left Pentatonix after Avi Kaplan left them and have never returned, but Adam Bastien is not offending me at all.

@@pamscarr8696 they were getting a little stale. Even if Austin had stayed, there was a need to shake things up. Music groups need to do that about every four years to keep their singles and albums fresh and interesting. I loved the jazzy bluesy sound to this song. I hope we hear more.

I remember you from your Jynx channel. I found you again by accident, and subscribed. I had cancer, too, and I think I've beat it. Over four years. You can beat it, too. I see you are giving up alcohol, which may help. I'm usually against marijuana, but it does seem to help cancer patients. My sister-in-law benefitted greatly from it during her cancer treatment. @@JynxFree Pretty good! I got the cast off my broken arm yesterday and it's healing great! Speaking of healing, let me give you another tip: I had cancer during the pandemic, and couldn't get radiation treatments for almost three months after my surgery, which is not the best, nor what is standard. Anyway, the Bible says "A merry heart doeth well like a medicine", or laughter is the best medicine. Watch funny KZbin videos as much as possible. I watched a HULU show called "Too Cute" about kittens and puppies. Watch funny stuff and what warms your heart. I also walked half a mile to a mile every evening (to beat the Texas heat). Walking helps boost your mood and fight anxiety, as well as being good for your heart. A man named Norman Cousins wrote a book called "Laughter is the Best Medicine" (if my memory is correct), and he wrote about how he basically cured himself by watching old Marx Brothers movies. He had something really bad, but I'm not sure it was cancer. I loved your reaction to this. By the way, the third Adam has a husband. His voice is different from Austin's, of course, but it blends nicely. I hope they make good money with this old classic.

Tim does an interview with a reviewer/voice coach that tells sbout how he used to translate Austin B for the other band members because his country twang and words wete so hard to discern for the rest of them. Each new members add value. Will be enertain and interesting to see where they go. They werent County idenity until the Sing Off. They may just go pop. Lets see. Thats where Pentatonix lives.
