Not true or every franchise ever would never end. While yes, producers, cast, and fans will all want more, Hollywood studios are very intentional with releases. Traditionally after 3 films, franchises take long pauses or end, so outside a paramount+ series, it IS my opinion this is the end.

Yeah, I'm getting kind of sick of that too, the producers at Paramount want to make a Sonic Cinematic Universe and 3 movies and 1 short TV series isn't enough to be a Cinematic Universe so they likely will make more. Also because the classic 3 that have been adapted into the first and second Sonic movies and SA2 in this one, aren't the only Sonic games that Sega is giving Paramount permission to adapt copyrighted source material from. That studio is allowed to make theatrical adaptions of more than this amount of Sonic games because there is a list of them.

(Possible spoilers in the comment) I don’t think that would fit in this movie, leaks that got taken down due to copyright violations show that we’re getting the ARK with super sonic and super shadow. Leading me to believe Sonic and eggman team up, but for some unexplained reason he turns against Sonic and now Sonic and shadow have to team up. Black doom would be cool, but they could save that for the upcoming shadow show in the future. Even then by sonic 4 were most likely getting Amy and metal sonic so idk but I like the idea of introducing non animal animated characters (I hope for E-102 GAMMA but we’ll see!)

Black Doom could indeed be adapted in some way, but I would say they would have to have a lot of courage to do so, since they hardly adapt anything fantastic from the franchise, besides the Chaos Emeralds...

Military nut here, based on what I could tell from the brief shot of Shadow and professor Gerald presumably mourning over Maria. That scene likely takes place in the 1950s given the cut of the pants the style of boots and the style of helmet. The style of pants and boots is congruent with Korea and the Vietnam era, however the helmet lacks a fabric camo wrapping, which the United States military adopted just prior to the war in Vietnam. That's not to say it couldn't be Vietnam era. But it's more likely that it is Korea era.

My current theory at this point is that she is the next character to be revealed. There's that whole Maddie shirt thing where the colors she wears corresponds to the character revealed at the end of that movie. Sonic 1 it was blue and yellow for Tails, Sonic 2 it was Black and Red for Shadow, and in both the Knuckles Series and this trailer for Sonic 3 we see Maddie wearing pink meaning Amy is probably the character to be revealed at the end of the 3rd movie.
