A reminder that while Sega has fumbled Shadow’s character in like- the least few years (since Sonic 06) Sonic x Shadow generations seems to be bringing back what made Shadow compelling, complex, and worth caring for. Whether it’s in the Dark Beginnings prologue episodes or in the game I mentioned.

So the thing is, for those who haven’t played Sonic Adventure 2 (Dreamcast), FUCKING HELL all of that is just completely canon and accurate, and I just love it! “Team sonic”, the team up with Robotnik, chaos control (I hope we’ll hear Shadow say it…), even the first encounter in the city on the destroyed car is how SA2 starts (people thought it was Sonic so the beginning of the game is you running away from the cops, basically). The ARK lifting off the water. And Gerald Robotnik, grandfather of Eggman, Maria (the woman Shadow grew up with). Oh man. OHMAN!! They did an excellent job in the first two games in terms of lore, but here, it’s going to be a masterpiece.

I feel like could tease Amy or Rouge or any other Sonic character in a post credits scene to see if the fans want more (yes we do). Paramount has the potential to do like 10 Sonic movies because there are so many characters. But let’s just take it 1 movie at a time. Crazy to think this all started because Paramount listened to the fans and improved Sonic’s design.

Sonic Team of Japan is fully aware and knows how to handle Shadow- he is far different from the American iteration which states Shadow does all his acts for Maria. In the source materials, Shadow does everything for himself, and that is why there hasnt been growth since 2006. It sort of was the cap or end to the story that Sonic Team has told, which leads to the staleness of Shadow character, especially when Sonic Team of America starts their "edgy trope" that even finds its way into IDW.

The sonic films when adding a new character for a later movie, they've done it at the end at a post credit or something along those lines. If they add Amy or Rouge it'll be teased at the end. My one hope is that Paramount do the thing and show Maria getting shot. as dark as that sounds its crucial to his character and will set Shadows lore and tone to the correct stage.

I feel having Rouge in the movie is kinda critical. It would be a good sub story with the chaos emeralds just like SA2. But more importantly, Shadow and Rouge relationship in the game gave him that emotional depth. He saved her in the game, so he did care to a degree ;and he had flashbacks of Maria in certain situations with rouge. But that of course would mean they would take heavily from SA2 which I doubt, which is sad 😕 But still excited for the movie! 😁

Great video and reaction @Chaoswissroll and a few things that I know you will enjoy and appreciate. Jeff Fowler has worked as an animator and was the director for the opening video sequence of the Shadow The Hedgehog game and he mentioned in the interview that he would be using some elements from SA2 and the Shadow game in the movie. Sega is not the same because they have had too many staff changes over the years and the old school people that had genuinely made the effort to appreciate the franchise, have been replaced with those who just create content for Sega to make money. Jeff Fowler is a personal fan of the Sonic Games and the franchise and so, he also wants to make sure that he does the characters and the franchise justice and he is doing just that. Also, Paramount have already confirmed that Sonic 4 movie is already in development, which means they have already decided on who and what will be revealed at the end credits of Sonic 3 movie and are now figuring out how to continue Sonic's character development, while staying within the themes of the games and still being a little different, fun and enjoyable, which is a huge challenge. My boys are already hounding me about going to watch S3 when it is released and so, I will most likely have to book the tickets in advance 🤣🤣🤣 P.s. you got a new subscriber 😎👍

I hear loads of people saying Shadow is like the Green Ranger of Sonic. I may have even agreed once cuz it's kind of true but not really. Comparing the 2 means forgetting the thing that makes them different. Tommy was brainwashed to be an evil Ranger and beat the shit out of the others. But then he overcame Rita's brainwashing, used his powers against her, joined the good guys, and subsequently became the greatest Power Ranger to ever exist! (That is fact and not up for debate) Shadow was not brain washed. He had full control of what he was doing. He's an anti-villain who became an anti-hero. Awesome!

Take for instance, in sonic 06 they have a I basically have them kill off sonic and that’s one of the worst deaths in every game people probably never see for sonic but you are correct saying I would never treat shadow. I hope someday a better people will treat characters with respect. I’m happy that the current books are giving more of blaze and silver with some respect. I’m happy they deserve it and the writer who’s doing it is doing a very good damn job this person a lot of respect for giving more development for the characters.

According to insider information and interviews... a standalone Shadow series (I'm assuming similar in structure to the Knuckles series) is in production right now. I'm assuming that they may do the Shadow from Sonic Heroes plot line where, at the end, it's revealed that the OG Shadow is DEAD and this one is part of basically a boat load of clones created by Robotnik, if I'm remembering that correctly. Also, Sonic 4 is in pre-production and according to insider info, Amy Rose will be in movie 4 and will have a main role to play. My THEORY is that at the end of Sonic 3, Robotnik gets it in his head "If Grandad could make that powerful of a hedgehog to beat Sonic, I wonder if I could, too?!" and the main villain is Metal. Or he finds Chaos and they do that plot line instead. I love Metal Sonic. Have you ever seen the "Sonic the Hedgehog OVA" movie? I'd love to see that kind of Metal. Anywho, hi. New fan here.

Ugh I hope they don’t replace Shadow with a clone, I think there would likely be riots if that happened. I hated when they did that in the Fleetway comics. I think Shadow deserves a chance to find happiness again after everything he’s been through, and I imagine Maria would have wanted Shadow to be happy too. And it’s revealed that Shadow ISN’T a clone in the Shadow the Hedgehog game’s true ending, Eggman had found him in a coma after SA2 and healed him/kept him alive while keeping him in stasis, while also using him to create an army of androids/robots that looked like Shadow while he was unconscious. At least until Rouge freed him.
