I’m a bit late to the party. Question: I got a SONOS Connect AMP gen 2. I run two SONOS PLAY 1s with the CONNECT AMP , connected/lined in to an old Zentih all in one stereo. I hoked up two passive speakers to the Connect amp and found that they sounded weak/scratchy compared to the speakers connected directly to the Zenith stereo itself, naturally. My question is; if I hooked up active bookshelf speakers to the CONNECT AMP, do you think that would improve the sound and remove some or all of that weak, scratchiness I heard out of the passive bookshelf speakers as well as the PLAY 1s? Not sure if it’s making sense but my goal is to have all found speakers , the SONOS PLAY 1s and bookshelf speakers running off the SONOS CONNECT AMP so the sound is perfectly synched up and there not to be a delay.

I don't have an option to do wires outdoors. For my midsize backyard, I am looking to buy 4 Sonos Move speakers and 1 new Sonos Amp. Will I be able to wirelessly conect the 4 speakers to the Sonos amp and get a good sound? Thanks so much.

You don't need the amp to run the Sonos Move man.

Don’t get why it’s just a 2.1. For surround sound setup wouldn’t you be better with a receiver that can power more than 2 channels? And the equivalent priced receivers have airplay and chrome cast built in...
@OneHourSmartHome5 жыл бұрын
Justin, you make a fair point, but what we've found is that people tend to enjoy and use simple systems like Sonos more than traditional system because they are easier to use and control from your phone or with your voice. Sonos only has 3 buttons which is typically less intimidating than the 10-30 + buttons a typical receiver has.

I have a Beam plus 2 Solo One's (for surround in my livingroom). I was looking to add the Subwoofer for the extra umf of base but as anyone knows, the subwoofer itself is pretty pricey. I started looking into the sonos connect to add my own sub but just seen this sonos amp and am wondering what would be a better investment. Is the Connect, Amp or just coughing up the difference and going with the Subwoofer a better experience? Any help or suggestions?

Will my existing Klipsch aw 650 speakers be fine or should the Sonance outdoor speakers be used with the new Sonos amp
@OneHourSmartHome5 жыл бұрын
Ron, those are quality speakers they will work great with the Sonos amp. The only difference is that you can only connect 4 Klipsch speakers vs 6 Sonance speakers to 1 Sonos amp.

Looking to add a pair of outdoor speakers. Will the Sonos Connect Amp & Sonance outdoor speaker set be ok, or do I need to splurge and get the New Sonos Amp with the new Sonos by Sonance outdoor speakers?
@OneHourSmartHome5 жыл бұрын
Justin, the Sonos Connect Amp: amzn.to/2GOwRnE will work with the Sonance Outdoor Speakers: amzn.to/31jeeAb without issue. The only functionality you would be losing is that the New Sonos Amp: amzn.to/2GQLBlT is designed to drive up to 6 Sonance Outdoor Speakers where the older Sonos Connect Amp will drive up to 4 speakers. I have an existing Sonos Connect Amp driving some of my outdoor speakers and and works great, only limitation is that you can only use 4 speakers vs 6. Trueplay tuning is not available for either amp when used with outdoor speakers because it's an open space, trueplay needs to be in an enclosed space to work. The Sonance Outdoor Speakers: amzn.to/2YJnaRz are very high quality and if you are looking for premium outdoor sound they will sound great, the biggest difference I have noticed with them is that they seem to have a richer low tones and tend to sound better even when 30+ ft away when compared to more value priced speakers. They also feel much heavier than the speakers I replaced them with. This post on our website covers a lot of information about the Sonos Amp: www.onehoursmarthome.com/blog/sonos-outdoor-speaker-review

Nice video! I was wondering if I need an sonos boost/bridge for the new sonos amp?
@balooo28635 жыл бұрын
No you will not,however if your wireless router is far away from the point of use/install then a boost will help further the signal. Another thing to know...Sonos equipment is a mesh system so if you have other Sonos equipment between your router and the new amp location it will "chain" the signal, the only exception is the new portable outdoor speaker which does not have mesh capabilites. Hope this helps!

Ty is Correct!
@OneHourSmartHome5 жыл бұрын
Expanding on Ty's comments I don't use a Sonos Boost or bridge for any new Sonos devices. Since they all work on wifi if you are having connectivity issues I recommend getting a mesh system like Eero: amzn.to/2n3OYj0 or Google Wifi: amzn.to/2oI9s0Z. I use Eero and it works great.

May I ask y does it have 2 ethernet ports and how would u hook up more than two speakers that aren't Sonos made?
@OneHourSmartHome5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does have 2 ethernet ports and it will work standard non-sonos speakers either built in or free standing shelf speakers like these: amzn.to/2Wd2yMr . Ideally you want to use 8-ohm speakers. It is rated for 4 standard 8ohm speakers or 6 sonos made built in speakers like these: amzn.to/2HSTrML
