So I just began and finished Ann Leckies Ancillary series it’s a trilogy plus a couple stand alone in the same world.. only read the trilogy..not normally my cup of tea..a bit too woke for my normal likening…but it’s wonderfully written and the audiobooks are amazing..won a bunch of awards, well worth it, well deserved..I like your August list, will dip my foot..that Corey book looks good too bad it’s the first in a series(probably) hate waiting for the next one so I usually wait till a few are written..the spell shop sounds fun..

corey is an author I've heard so much about but it looks like they've published so many books already and I'm a little hesitant to start a big series at my age⚛

Well that's fair! I'd at least encourage you to check out the tv show! They did a great job and you get the main thrust of the series.
