Beautiful machine! 😎👍I can bet it will be just as hard working as the other Split Fire splitter! Thanks for sharing, Chad! I'm looking forward to seeing it in action soon.

It sure is! I've had the chance to use it a few times already (recorded today's video last week). It's amazing.

I went with the 3265 three years ago because of the working height issue. I’m only 5’9” myself, but like you I would get lower back pain from long splitting sessions. That doesn’t happen anymore.

That's great to hear! I really like the 2265, but was hoping this taller machine will solve that discomfort. I'm glad to hear it worked for you! I haven't had more than 30 minutes at a time to split in the last week (since I got the machine) - so I'm hoping I have the same experience as you. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.

Most of the time my wife and I can barely keep up with the 3265 at 1/2 throttle. The 4 way wedge never really appealed to us. I also really like the knife edge wedge that is common to the 2265 and 3265.

Wow, congrats AGAIN Chad! Very nice. Will you keep both or eventually spin off the 2265? I have to say, my curiosity is burning up about what is still yet to come!

Hi Chris! We're not sure yet what we'll do yet with two splitters. I want to use the 3465 for a while and see if with the taller bed height it helps keep my back from getting stiff on those cold splitting days of winter.

Very nice. Like the idea of the lift kit. Being a volleyball coach must pay very well. 😁 I am going to say your 3rd announcement is going to be a bigger garage, if you buy any more toys.

HA! That's funny. Jennifer has specifically stated "no more garages". But I think "machine shed" is up to interpretation. :)

Congratulations on the new splitter! I will be getting my Eastonmade in a few more weeks. I cant wait to retire the 30 year old Yardman/MTD splitter

Congratulations on the upgrade! Which Eastonmade are you getting? After 30 years, I'd say that Yardman/MTD definitely served its purpose!!

@@PurpleCollarLife Thanks! I am getting a 12-22. I also got the STK24 and picked that up a few weeks ago just to put the cart before the horse.😂. I think I originally paid $1000 for the Yardman ;)

This was helpful- you mentioned that the 20-22 ton is equivalent to a higher tonnage due to its engineering? I was curious about the 4490 as I’ve typically found that I need at least a 30 ton one-way splitter for large, knotty pieces of oak. Also, could you hook up the splitter to a truck without the long extension?

Great question. I can tell you that I've used splitters with more "tonnage", but these Split-Fire machines punch higher than their weight class. I haven't found anything I can't chip away at yet. I like the extension. Yes - you could connect them, but you'd have to be really careful on turns.

Thanks for watching! I'll keep that in mind. It would be REALLY hard for me to think about getting rid of that 2265. It's been outstanding.

Do you know if they have a kit that can be added to the 2265 for bringing up the height?
@PurpleCollarLife
@PurpleCollarLife 10 ай бұрын
I think the way we ordered our 2265 (with the larger wheels/tires) is the only way to get it taller. So the version we have of that 2265 is probably as tall as it goes. That being said, Split-Fire does seem to be able to do customization if desired. They might build a taller version if someone requested it.

Wow you bought another Splitfire Chad! What made you get another one? Was it the bed height?
@PurpleCollarLife

100% I wanted to see if the 32-inch bed height was easier on the back when splitting for hours in the winter. I also was curious about how we'd like the 4-way wedge.

Will your 3465 splitter fit through a 48” gate? Thanks.
@PurpleCollarLife
@PurpleCollarLife 9 ай бұрын
The way we have it configured, with the extra height, there is also some extra width. It measures about 47-inches wide at the outside of the wheels. But the log lift sticks out further than the wheels - even when it's in the down position.

The first announcement was the mini-excavator. This splitter is the 2nd. 3 others coming in the near future. Hopefully a little bit spaced out though for the next ones! These two came closer together than I originally planned. :)

You'll like tomorrow's video (10/6/23) better! More splitting, less talking. This one was intended to just be an introduction of the machine and an explanation of the similarities and differences between the 2265 and the 3465. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Stay tuned for splitting action and first impressions!
