In my opinion the bullpup is one of the greatest innovations in gun designs. Shorting the overall length of the weapon yet still keeping the barrel length. You have the best of both worlds. Power and accuracy of a rifle yet something compact like a sub machine gun
@BigWheel.

The ergonomics are often an issue however.

Only applies to cartridges that depend on bullet velocity from a long barrel (5.56 & .308 being the two most common). Also there is no such thing as “power” when it comes to ballistics. They also have superior ergonomics. Idk wtf that other guy is talking about. The majority of the weight is concentrated behind the firing hand which results in a very balanced design that is more comfortable to shoulder for extended periods of time even at heavier weights. It’s trigger pull, difficulty with switching shoulders on the fly due to the ejection location (which the hellion mostly avoids due to its long LOP), and price (due to them being more niche) that are the cons of a modern bullpup

They have higher quality than most ARs! Dissemble and check it out! It’s like comparing Ruger to BCM and BCM compared to HK. Everyone likes Ruger but their quality isn’t that great. Why would I pay $1,000 for a Ruger AR556 pistol when I could get a BCM for $1,300? Better quality and better machining during production. Being an import has nothing to do with it. Glock comes from Austria and is better quality than S&W. But your opinion doesn’t matter to me. I know guns and I know quality. You get what you pay for. You wanna buy a Ruger or Smith your gonna have to pay $145. For better charging handle, $175 for a better BCG and after all is said and done your paying $1,200 for a rifle that’s still less quality than a BCM and $1,000 less than an HK and HK performs better, lasts longer and is over all way better because of all the precision that they go through. I prefer my XD over my Glock and my XD was $200 cheaper. Learn firearms then see who’s full of crap!

Springfield has been impressing me lately the hellcat I initially didn't like as much but i warmed up and started to like it more never shot one though so would definitely need to if I was going to buy one. And then Springfield SA35 hi power clone impressed me with the specs everything being forged like the slide and frame and a ChF barrel and reworking hammer to be less likely to get hammer bite and making the safety enhanced for easier manipulation and also getting rid of the magazine disconnect safety. All very nice stuff but have heard problems with finishes on them and showing up with machine marks and most importantly ejection issues and extractor issues. I will wait to see if Springfield addresses those problems and hopefully fixes them. Maybe ill buy one then. And then now this gun super cool gun.

It's usually a safe bet not to be an early adopter for a new production gun or automobile. It's not like the SA35 is just another 1911 variant where SA has been putting them together for decades.

Don, that looks like the same rifle that James Reeves demoed on his TFB TV and the same one that honest outlaw demoed because of the night force scope. I say this because James Reeves looks like he got it first and the trigger pull was at 8.5 pounds. Now that you have it, it’s down to 5 pounds, so it appears that it’s getting broken in! Also I have noticed many respondents bashing Springfield armory, and rightfully so for the stance they took a few years back against the Second Amendment. However, as you have stated many times in your video this is a purely 100% Croatian made firearm, and Springfield armory only markets it with their name. Croatian firearms have a reputation for very good quality. Great quality video as usual! I love how you were one of the first guys to break it down and show the quality of it! The functionality of a weapon system is the most important thing and ease of cleaning is very important! Nice!!!

Based on the internationally proven VHS-2 bullpup, which has been employed by the Croatian armed forces in demanding environments ranging from Iraq to Africa and beyond, the Springfield Armory Hellion offers American shooters a semi-automatic 5.56mm version of this highly capable firearm. The VHS-2 bullpup manufactured by Croatia's HS Produkt became one of the most frequently seen rifles during the Iraqi counter-offensives against ISIS during 2015-17. The rifle regularly appeared in news reports and social media posts and became somewhat synonymous with the fighting for Fallujah and Mosul.

I highly recommend "wheel spin" bullet heads instead of "drive shaft spin" long bullet heads, there is already one created in Italy in 1958 in Palermo by a lower lever Italian prince that fell in love with a Japanese princess. She ended up using him later and he destroyed the gift. Both were in the "Axis of Evil" together with Nazi Germany. The "Bene Gesserit" made a movie about it. "The Karate Kid." If you shoot "open bolt," every shot is a "cold bore" shot.

Love the bullpup look, design, and I do look forward to handling one of these. This said, it seems that this model (like most of them) are a solution looking for a problem. The charging handle (and some of the other controls) really look to be less than optimal in operation and ergonomics. Always the consideration when we step away from the standard AR platform. With the cost of these, ($2000), as well of other 5.56 bullpubs on the market, it is difficult to see these as any other than an expensive novelty. I am sure, as an issue weapon, lots of time using it, the controls become more "practical". Every time I get the "bullpup" bug, I just build 2-3 AR-15s LOL. If this was priced at closer to $800, I would venture into it, however, a $2000 toy is too much of a step for me. Clearly, this model would require a whole set of unique spare parts. Thanks for the review! I was excited to see this carbine released, and look forward to handling one in person.

I'm not a huge fan of bullpups, they're ok, but I will say I absolutely love my Tavor (the original one not X95). It's so much easier to hold up and on target longer than a typical rifle, for me anyway. My only complaint about it is the bolt hold open is awkward and feels kinda cheap/chinsy. Overall love it though. Of course the manual of arms takes some getting used to, but that's what practice is for. I don't think it's as fast to reload as an AR-15 but that doesn't matter to me, it's not a huge difference and the pros outweigh the cons for me. This rifle looks pretty nice too, thanks for the review big 🐕. LOL Springfield must be throwing Nightforce optics on all their rifles, Ian at Forgotten Weapons had the same thing on his.
