A new saga changes nothing for me. The star wars franchise has been destroyed by disney. Kinberg is a butcher of the best stories Marvel ever had. I have no doubt Simon will take the stories of Luke skywalkers desendents which had more than a few good stories and totally destroy them. Especially involving Luke's grandson. At this stage I'm waiting until 2077 when Star Wars goes into public domain. That's going to be the only time we get good Star wars again.

If the sequel trilogy is still canon, and Rey rebuilds the Jedi order, nothing matters. I wouldn’t care if it’s 500 years in the future. Rey still stole Luke’s legacy. Luke was a failure, and perfect Mary Sue Rey stole his destiny to rebuild the Jedi. I’m sticking with the Expanded Universe. F Disney “canon”!

At this point in time, they should just focus on the 50th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope and do a theatrical re-release, which is right around the corner. Everything they do now will be compared to the original trilogy, which will be in the spotlight from the upcoming 50th anniversaries of all three movies. They would be smart to take a break during this time period, in my honest opinion. Keep up the great content, Drunk3PO! 👍

Kinberg gets movies made and he’s worked with Lucasfilm before so he has a better chance than most at getting a Star Wars movie in theaters, but that doesn’t mean Kennedy won’t overcomplicate the process and cause him to walk away.

I have 3 requirements to even give a chance to a trilogy from Lucasfilm (if it even gets made). 1 KK must not be at Lucasfilm when it is announced and starts production 2. Disney must not own Lucasfilm when it is announced and starts production 3. Under new owners, Lucasfilm must officially state that the Disney movies/show are not part of the canon.

What we need is a reboot of the sequels. First, I think Rey should be the villain (simply because she is a Palpatine) and Kylo Ren should be a jedi on the edge of turning dark who ends up being saved. Kinda like Anakin Skywalker but he never participated in order 66. If you really want to bring Luke back, make him save and train Kylo Ren to be one of the strongest jedi of all time. Or maybe they could finally use that idea of Jar Jar Binks being a sith lord, since while people still hate him, the Acolyte exists, so people might excuse it.

Love how people say they wish Star Wars “would move away from the Skywalker Saga”. The trilogy of trilogies IS the Skywalker Saga. Everything outside of that can be about other characters and situations set in the Star Wars universe. But episodes 1-9, and any other numbers Disney tacks on, should be about the Skywalkers. Personally, I want the sequel saga to go away, and never be a thing. Retcon it. Make it something that happened in an alternate universe. Anything! Just give us a better send off for our original heroes, and a reason to care about the new ones. Then, set new movies/ shows in the future, or with characters and locations far removed from those presented in “the Skywalker Saga”, but still set in the same galaxy, far, far, away. Cheers,
