The metal things in the filing cabinet are stops to keep your hanging files from sliding back when you don't have the drawer full. Remember... fill up the bottom two drawers first to not allow the cabinet to tip over as well.

You are even more interesting when you are just talking. I love your passion and excitement for this project. A couple of ideas that you might look into. Oh, I kinda do this for living so sorry if I’m bossy.First if you remove the wood shelving and brackets in the closet, you could purchase taller shelving which might better utilize that higher space. Also, you might consider, if there’s enough space, to placing the file cabinet in the closet as well. Depending on how much document storage you actually need consider that unused drawer space for storing other things than just paper. You might try looking for shelving and storage bins, etc at Harbor Freight Tools. The items may not be the cutest but for closet storage it is very affordable. Finally, I know this may be a little pricey, but consider a Murphy bed. It would free up a lot of floor space and still have a bed for guest. I find that IKEA has some good prices and selection. And finally you should paint before adding anything else to the room. It is easier and the job will come out much better. Sorry if I came off bossy. Btw I love your rendition of Stupid Cupid. It was great and I think Connie Frances would agree. Best of luck.

Anne, hello. What you are doing with your studio looks really good. I'm impressed. I have a few ideas for you to consider. For your chair, try elastic band chair covers so you can easily change the colors. OR, if it is wood underneath the chair, you could wrap and staple on new fabric. For your closet, consider a rack with wheels so you can pack it full but still access everything by pulling/rolling it out.. For room acoustics, try cardboard type egg cartons or fabric wall hangings for an inexpensive approach. It's always great to hear you sing, but, it was cool to hear ya talk too.

I have also dealt with acoustic treatment measures. There are a few classic rules. 1. Set up bass traps in 2 or 4 corners (your bed is a bass trap too) 2. Absorbers behind the speakers. 3. Absorber/diffuser combination on the side surfaces (also as a stand, if there is a window/door, a thick curtain does it too) 4. Diffusers on the back (a book shelf is a diffusor too) 5. Optional absorber on the ceiling (above the listening position) 6. Carpet on the floor. You don't have to build everything with it, if only because of it can get expensive. The thicker the absorbers, the lower frequencies are lowered. While foams look good and are fairly cheap, they are the worst materials for this purpose. Materials such as acoustic wool, acoustic felt, acoustic wadding are better suited. Soft = absorber, hard = diffuser. Everything in the room also reduces the reverberation. Don't make the room dead (to much of all). Your headphones are basically dead rooms, which has disadvantages. Your listening position is good, speakers on earlevel, stereo triangle.

A few thoughts for your consideration, cable management as an earlier poster suggested velcro wraps; think about room perimeter shelving above door frame height for added storage, may need collapsible 3 step ladder for easy access( we hang ours on closet door). Oh becareful with empty boxes...they seem to multiply in storage!

From my experience with my own adjustable height desk: You can have an awful amount of stuff on there, mine is rated for well over 300lb. So it could carry not just the weight of all the stuff you have on it, but your weight on top of it, and still be well below the weight capacity. And it moves rather slowly, so things you have on there generally won't move, you just need to make sure you route the cables so that they don't snag on anything. Also, one of the underappreciated aspects of height adjustable is that you can do micro adjustments to the height as you sit slightly differently throughout the day (e.g. sometimes I just sit nice and tall, and other times I seem to slouch over and it feels more comfortable to lower the desk a little bit).

orange and blue go really well with the fantastic curtians . as for the pink lamp . . . . 2 to 3 more primary rainbow color accent pieces throughout the space would go well with the vintage green - orange - and some sort of darker brighter blue in the space . a single framed poster or a painting or print could go on the wall over the bed to go with the lamp and with a little purple and or pink in the poster-print-painting the lamp would fit just right. even a lava lamp - like a rainbow or pink - or purple one would work .

The "endless tangle of cables" may need some work to a full song. Will pair well with "dust philosophical song". A "wall pox" ballad, next?
@proehm Жыл бұрын
From having done this over the years - Printer on top of the filing cabinet. If you are dealing with slap echo, make a 1x2 frame about 3' x 4' Staple a moving blanket to it then staple a piece of cloth (like a bed sheet) over that. Make sure that both wrap around to the back for aesthetics and to space it off the wall. Hang loosely. For a bass diffuser, same but a 12 - 18" tube hanging from ceiling. For editing same kind of wall diffuser behind desk only pure white with a high lamp shining down onto it (lamp same color temp as monitor. - This is so your eyes have a pure white field for color correction.)

And I'm glad for you that you now have more space for creativity. My dream for you is that someday you will buy your own house, in which your order will always be. The video turned out to be awesome. I think the studio will also be cool. And I choose colors as carefully as you do. Mental comfort depends on them.

an good studio needs an storage-room/area nearby (next to it). with that you can decide which gear you exchange directly without letting the studio-space coming smaller and cruel ;) building up an studio is mostly an heavy time impact and in my chase the current duration is approx. 10 months - but I am doing that just next to my real full time job.

Thank you for sharing! As someone who uses his bedroom as a multipurpose fabrication shop and art studio, I appreciate the struggle of trying to do professional work within a limited residential space! Thank you for showing your process and mishaps with such candor. At first I couldn't understand why you were talking about people judging you for looking like you "just rolled out of bed" in some of the clips, and other things like that. I thought it was just a joke, because why would anyone care? But then I remembered that the internet has no shortage of pathetic haters who like to pick apart and degrade every little aspect of a person's appearance, while simultaneously accusing the person of being shallow and vain. It's almost funny, in a sad and troubling way. But anyway, keep on keeping on! I appreciate all the light and positivity you bring into the world!
