I agree, I especially like the gimmick of turning the castle upside down. The boss however was disappointing. You just do the same Bowser and Bowser jr. fights as before, but at the same time. It was pretty underwhelming. NSMB2, Wii and U all had way better bosses in my opinion.

@@teen17 no, lies. The castle of the mario of wii didnt even had any difficulty, and the good part is when bowser becomes giant. In the other hand, the castle of ds had difficulty and you had to fight bowser and jr at the same time.

Everyone here has good memories of this game. And mine were just bad. This was, hands down, the HARDEST Mario game I ever beat. And with a broken bottom screen, the only way to go back to early worlds was to beat the game. That's why I couldn't go back and get more lives or a power-up. I couldn't.

I just remember playing Mario vs Luigi with my pals all day everyday. The only bad memory I have of this game is me and my friends throwing hands over who gets to be Luigi. New Super Mario ds was my first Mario game. I played it when I was 4 and instantly got me obsessed with Mario. I lost the cartridge unfortunately, so I can only remember the good times when I played poker with Luigi or rage at the giant eel. This was probably my favorite Mario game!

I feel for you regarding the difficulty to recreate the level using SMM2 Mechanics. The room flipping, the ending to pick the exact route to use, and the Boss fight itself are just a few noticeable differences I noticed. Regardless, this was the first of a few games I 100% Completed, so it was nice to see a refreshing take from an updated perspective...

Hmmm, I don't know about the limitations in regards to doors, but maybe, you could get the flip effect to work by placing a p-switch door directly on top of the block, where the room flipping switch is, replacing it with a P-switch. Or a locked door might also work with the key inside the block. Those doors would then lead to the flipped versions of that room.
