The modernized "America's Ass" costume was inspired by the return of Captain America's appearance in Marvel's Avengers #No 4. The later interation of the suit would later bring more detail & texture. Especially when it comes to Endgame Worthy Cap. I do agree with you. The Blue jeans & Kevlar WW2 cap suit was the choice they should have picked.

I have no problem with the picture but it was a bit weird to make this big deal about hiding the suit through production to then post a... decidedly pretty normal looking picture. All in all, looking forward to the movie!

I don’t think the purple light has anything to do with the movie. I don’t think it’s ever gonna pan out to be anything. This is just a promotional picture and I think they just threw that in the background to show that he’s getting suited up to go fight the good fight, I think they overall just snapped a picture of him getting dressed on set and then Photoshop the rest in and James gun like the picture. It’s probably something else like that.

I think his outfit looks utilitarian in the way a "workman's" outfit would if he worked in a trade such as construction, mining, electrician. It gives me blue jean overalls vibes (without looking like overalls) so it gives the outfit the overall aesethic of a blue collar worker.

I agree completely. I think David looks amazing, I just don't know why this was our first look. The lighting gives the impression of different colors and the pose isn't doing it any favors. I think I'd actually love the photo if it wasn't our introduction to him. As it stands I dig it, I just wanted something that would give us a better feel of how it will look on the finished product.

Yep. Kryptonians don't look like humans. Humans look like Kryptonians. Kryptonians are the MUCH older species. They had achieved space flight while humans were still running on their knuckles. Kryptonians aren't the only "human" looking aliens either. There were some that pre-date Kryptonians. The easiest answer is that Rao, the Kryptonian High God is also The Presence/the Source, which is also the Marvel deity One Above All which is the same as the Judeo-Christian God and God created beings in HIS image. Kryptonians were just put on a much more hostile world where they evolved differently but the same.

I really dig the new Superman suit. The wrinkles make it look more realistic and more comfortable. The dark blue color I also like, and it's not as dark as Cavill's blue color was. It's very new 52 like and that's awesome. The cape is really long, looks almost as long as my Batman cape from my Dark Knight costume worn by Christan Bale in the movies. I rank Corensweat's suit slightly above Cavill's. It's not too tight and I like that.

Superman wears them for modesty. Even in the new My Adventures with Superman cartoon, Martha glanced down at the waist of Clark's suit and said something was missing and stuck him in the briefs. Remember, this is Superman, the most manly man to ever man. You can't put him in anything remotely skintight without a whole extra layer to preserve his modesty. That's why the circus strongmen wore them as well. You couldn't have Mr. Happy on display for the wives and kiddies.

That suit looks horrible. I will wait to decide if I want to see it in theaters or wait until streaming when the trailer drops, but just based off this image, it's a hard pass. I don't like the S at all. The collar on the suit is a no go for me. The trunks? Oh God.. hell no. The trunks is a horrible look on any character and I really dislike it. They need to move forward. The Cavill suits proved that Superman works without them. It is a shame they can't move forward and are stuck in the past. The texture of the suit doesn't look good either. I know he is sitting down, but it isn't flattering. Just so many problems with it over all. All just opinions and I am sure will go crazy of how good they think it is, but it just isn't for me at all.
