New Survival game with a Train as your base! - Heat Death: Exodus

Co-Op is a must. Too many of these games lack it despite being able to support it And a ton of people are going to want it anyway. Hope it has a generously amount of content and customizing modules to make it properly stand out instead of being speed ran through in a few hours.

If you want a game like this, there's Anomaly Warzone Earth, which is basically like a reverse turret defense game where you move a train of vehicles down paths to deal with alien turrets and other threats.

Playing the demo now. Beautiful scenery. Very chill, tho I'm sure that will change with the chapters release. Would like to see defense stats on train parts as far as weather and attack resistance. I like using glass for the walls but it seemed like I was getting cold during a storm. Also the ability to move base parts when not place optimally rather then scrapping. I found Zoe's grave. Hoping there are more things to be found in the chapters. Looking forward to more! Also want to find out what the object in the sky is!

Since i've seen you guys considering ideas and opinions: Drones are literally from the Oblivion movie with Tom Cruise, idk if it's bad or good, but I cannot leave the feeling of copied design Surroundings looks deserted and tedious for a 2 minute demo video, UE cannot make it nextgen'y or exciting by itself. Neither do this presentation As from the video - train building felt too limited and empty to build a "fortress". This trains more look like a moving platform, not a train. Modules seems like they just independently placed on some pad, and not as a part or building on a train Overall it looks nice for a story telling game, it could be nice to unveil some mysteries about a world and what happened here But at some moments it feels a bit too empty for a survival on a train

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. I can't deny the similarities between our drone and the one from Oblivion, but most flying drones would look alike, right? Though these drones are only one type of enemy, many more are under development. This footage is recorded from the demo version of the game (a mere 1-hour experience), therefore train building and environment might seem repetitive. Yes, you can place some modules independently, but structural parts of the train should be built in conjunction with each other, especially if you want to build a multi-story train!

@@portalpony477 and I can name at least 5 or 6 Survival Games with some kind of creatures attacking, resource gathering, research, crafting and the whole story-written part. This stuff is so common, I bet some (if not all) of it is already an integrated asset inside at least one game engine.

I literally played a game like this the other week, you were in space, on a train, tethered to it building up your base as it went along. I agree, different and interesting but like with most things.. a popular style will appear, be copied, then the next thing... Look at adding zombies, survival, battle royal The similar game is called: Voidtrain

I love this idea - however im very sceptical about the direction... i think the most important part is to make the game fun. If you are going to make a "shooting train game" it might be not the right way to focus on a "mass-effect-like" enviroment, but a exciting train builder, random events, raiders, worms and enemy strongholds with artillery defences, obstacles you need a heavy plow to break.. a way to put action in could be a multiplayer focused game, some guys on turrets, others as tanks with shields jumping off, engineers placing turrets to give supression fire, and finally stealing some loot before you have to drive off to not get crushed by the hordes... allso diffent types of resources like fuel, food, engines and weapons you can find could have an inpact on the survival character.. well im just playing around ^^

@@HeatDeathGame Can you make some unique items that are scattered across all bases where you can use them to decorate with them your train like posters, figures , unique styles for the train ,etc . like for example in the game subanutica . Your train is your home you need to like what you have in your home. not just the metal walsl of it .

We can't deny the similarities, but our take on the train is different, we're focusing on the battle side of it alongside survival elements. To simplify it, you can think of it as a reversed tower defense where you should build turrets, shields, and drones on your train to defend yourself as you explore the world.
