Too true! I would love to see junior parks like Melrose in the blue mountains. Keep the tiny kids contained (and safe) while the “big kids” can get a proper sesh in. People say “go at night or during a week day”, but sometimes Saturday is all you get. It’s gross that it becomes a playground rather than a sport facility. Not to mention parents who don’t give a fuck.. I had to tell a dad (on his phone the whole time of course) that his son bringing a remote control car to a skate park while people are riding is dangerous as hell blah blah. It’s a difficult one because young kids learn off adults, progress and gain better park etiquette. Segregation is never usually a good solution but what do you do when parents use it as a crèche and don’t teach their kids how to plan a run and have some fucking spacial awareness? Lastly, Sydney park looked so much nicer (and faster!) before getting covered in shit graffiti. Less distracting when you skate.. I’m all for art (I am an artist) but shit tags just make it look ghetto rather than “cool”. Lastly lastly, they could be forgiven if on a skateboard, but scooters SUCK SO MUCH ASS. In my revolution, they would be the first to um.. eh.. “go”.

Your video came up after I searched for Dulwich Hill skatepark. Weird. Anyway, why were the coppers there? Did a helicopter parent call them because their 3 year old got bumped off a micro scooter? I tell my son to just run his line and if that means he takes out a toddler that shouldn't be in there to let me deal with the parents. Also, that little girl on the rollerblades actually shreds pretty hard now and I've been educating her dad on skatepark etiquette. Cheers, Dr R.

So many parks get ruined by parents and their kids. I mean they have a right to be there but maybe get them to learn in your backyard first before going to a skatepark and dangerously ruining it for other people? I spent a year learning on the street before even going to a skatepark
