New Tamiya Hotshot unbox and build

35 years on and I buy a re release of my first ever RC car. Tis brings back so many memories and I cannot wait to get this thing on the road.
It will spend most of its life on the shelf as a shelf queen but I plan to run it at the Iconic RC revival event at Broxtowe.
I have taken my time to make this look as good as I can and I am please with the results.

That driver turned out so nicely, Í was suspecting warhammer or similar, then I saw the bloodbowl box and citadel paints :D Lovely build video!

Great build! Love my Hotshot! I wanted one since I was a kid and it is everything I hoped it to be. I had to do mine box art for that iconic look. Hope it goes well at the revival 👍🏻🙌🏻

Nicest Hotshot I've seen for s country mile!!!! I had a Hotshot back in the day as my second car 1987/88 which I painted metallic dark green so may do a homage to date or go box art. Major scared to do my driver, not sure if to leave the driver as it comes in the kit or have a go......every driver I paint look terrible to the point it spoil the whole car fir me sadly 😥 Any advise in this one would be most welcome 🙏

Thanks for your comments By the time you put the roof on you can hardly see the driver so a lot of the effort is lost … but I know it looks good under there

I used non Tamiya paint it was a cheap transparent red backed with gold and black to give metallic finish
