What should you use in ESO ? UNINSTALL button!!! Eso game sucks, it is rigged, predatory, monetized, buggy, underdeveloped, lacks quality and PVP content and ZOS act like dictators from North Korea. Just read their forum. Snip, deleted, spreading rumors, spreading conspiracies, violating policy, banned account. That's all can do calling it a "dialogue". You can get banned anytime for anything, some people got banned because they have fallen through bugged texture and some in game AI recognized that as "cheating". And the support is terrible if it exists at all. Don't play it as Zenimax = SCAM. Or play it and cry and regret it later.

Well there are a lot of trial fights where groups split up so, I wouldnt trash it. Also Arcanist is going to be rare for awhile anyways.

the main question was never answered yet until necrom is live, are arcanist going to be better healers than wardens and NB? are they better tankers than DKs or Necros? the harder the content the less the options are because people would rather min/max rather than play what they like in such contents, so if the answer was no, you would still see them in easier contents/Difficulties, as iv seen some DK healers every once in a while, but never in DLC HM tails/dungeons. Yolna is nice if there was no arcanist AND using this skill to provide minor courage, cause DDs certainly wont use it.

Honestly its been around for 4 years, I'd like to see other sets get pushed up a little. Plus there's lots of fun sets too! I quite like running saxhleel so I don't have to use the boring war horn ultimate. Standard of Might on a DK for the damage reduction, colossus with necro, storm atro with sorcerer. You get the idea! I really do wish Ebon did a bit more as I love the red orbs it gives around your character, maybe add health recovery alongside the health increase? Or perhaps minor vitality for increased heals on all your group members?

Not obsolete at all. Its still way easier and 100% uptime. Relying on 1 person who may or may not be alive or even doing a good job with the buff, or even being able to be inside the buff when moving around doing mechanic boss fights like the vMoL twins or doing portal duties or having to seperate adds and boss grouping. Yolna is just way to consistent and reliable to be obsolete with that buff unless everyone has oakensoul on

its not just going to be 1 person, lets be honest. the average trial will probably have 2 arcanists at least, and theyll easily keep the uptime. And this could also be used as an arcanist tank skill.

@@OffBrandChicken That seems mighty optimistic that every trial will always have 2 Arcanists and that those 2 arcanist will somehow get all the players in the group to buff their damage by staying in one circle especially considering that there are so many mechanics in trials that if you overlap effects it will kill everyone in the group. Or bombs like in Bahsei vRG, Bubbles in vDSR, vMOL stack bombs in every boss phase Including shit moving around and having to have people reposition for different fight phases. I can go on and on actually where people are constantly having to move around and do different mechanica in literally every trial. Youd actually be wasting time losing DPS trying to keep everyone buffed tbh where as with Yolna, its just there with a massive constant buff range for thre group. Some teams might pull it off. But I bet 20,000 crowns on any ESO log to compare Yolnakriin groups vs Arcanist groups that Yolna beats out arcanist groups

I'm with you on this. Yoln is still king regardless. Until they come out with a trial that provides a more useful buff. You won't see the set die.

If you can't have your dds stand in one spot in a trial and coordinate buff uptime between everyone you already got problems yolna won't fix. Yolna is still good in weird trial situations to have but if you don't have i would not waste gold mats on it at all. It would be a total waste.

I wish this would've contained at least a passing mention that it's maybe not a good idea to summarily -execute- decon the set. It may not be "Meta" anymore - meaning in organised groups. But there will still be many trials and even more dungeon groups where no Arcanist support is present. And in that case, nothing will change. (Also, Oakensoul won't be an issue... because we can read everywhere that that'll be nerfed into the ground and totally not worth running anymore. ;) )

yeah a 10% decrease in HA damage is nerft into the ground.. max 5% dmg los on HA oaken players the first time ZOS walks on egg shells with a nerve..

My HA hit 160k with Offbalance, thats 16k max lost on that hit, its not that big of a difference. Watch Deltia run current and PTS HA Build on VVA, its maube 7-10 second difference on boss kill time.

@@feralomen It's not a nerf off HA damage by 10%. It's a nerf of Empower. We'll still get full HA damage and off balance bonus. If you hit 160k now, it'll probably hit 150k after the patch.

Or just let an arc dd or support slot this… it would be a dmg loss for that one dd but would have a group net gain…. Instead of dedicating a whole set to one buff

Yolnakriin is still going to be more reliable than the Archanist passive in several trials.

It’s not a passive, it’s a skill. Given a 20 second uptime, it should be present 100% of the time (so comparable to Yolo). It’s biggest disadvantages over Yolo are that it’s stationary, so will need to be recast often in mobile fights and, as a skill, can’t be used in two different places at once. Yolo provides the same 5 piece buff in a simpler way (taunting) to the whole group automatically. So, yes, Yolo is still going to be more reliable.

I get that it’s provided by a skill. It’s however not a skill that you cast & the group gets buff x. You cast the skill & then the group needs to remain in the aoe in order to get the buff. Like you already said it won’t be practical for split mechs if the group wants 100% uptime on minor courage. More mobile fights will be challenging to keep up as well. Archanists Domain also appears to not be targetable, being practical it may be easier for a healer to use than a tank since the majority of the time DPS are not stacking directly on the tank.

Currently planning Pearl+Crimson on Arcanist tank. Other options don’t look too good. Sax stays good on necro tank. Crimson on arcanist allows some interesting CP diversity, dropping bulwark and fortified, even on an imperial…

Id say it depends on what you're doing, By the way, it all looks like that in emd game trials. The main tank will be a DK, Necro, or Sorc running Crimson, Tremor, and Sax regardless, Arc will be off tank with pearl/Pa. So It may just depend on your setup as Dungons will be easier, especially now with how Arc Is gonna be. Especially if you have a Necro dps, warden dps etc. It really is just kinda dumb and Really wonky

I've read some speculation about running crimson on an arcanist MT and removing alkosh from the support dps, which would probably leave Sax/PA for the offtank. I hope the groups I run with take this route, because otherwise people will start talking about running MK on offtanks again, and I *really* don't want to run MK, on any role, ever. I should probably go farm out my EC weapons, just to make sure I have something else to wear. Maybe Akaviri Dragonguard could be good? Probably not, or people would be using it already.

As a Necro main tank, I will just keep running Saxhleel for now. I did just finish reconstructing a set of Yolnahkriin for my DK though...might just keep it for specific situations where it's needed.

It depends on group comp. If arcanist isn't as good as other healer classes, it might not be in every group. In place like cloudrest where the healers are upstairs and a tank is in a portal, yoln might still be good. In 4 person content, the chances of having an arcanist aren't so high that yoln is useless. Also what can an arcanist not use instead of that skill. Is there an opportunity cost for them?

It’s probably good to see a bit more variation in tank sets. However, the painful issue of having to carry even more sets just keeps growing. Yolo won’t die at all as it’s still just as relevent when you group doesn’t have an Arcanist in it. And if Arcanists don’t do as much damage as, say, DKs, will your kick arse trials team want to sacrifice a DK’s damage for an Arcanist’s skill that merely replicates what you can get on a good tank set? I’m not sure they will, and if not, is the Arcanist a good enough support to replace either a Warden, NB or templar healer? Or be a good enough tank?

This is one of the saddest days for ESO. I remember farming claw of yolnahkriin in my first trial. This set is a moment of nostalgia for me, but that doesn't change a lot I guess. There a still way less tanks than DDS or healer. Unfortunately there aren't any meta options but I found a good one for myself (meridias blessed Armor) and I also use the DSR tank set. It works perfectly out because I always have enough resources to cast spells and abilities and I give my group passive buffs.

@@The.Nasty. try the meridia tank set. It is awesome for dungeon tanking and new tanks! You can get it from the main story. It decreases blocking cost to 0 for a more or less big period of time. I'm pretty sure you'll love it!

Yolnahkriin was already too weak - at least for dungeons. Arkasis genius for example is waaaaay better for dungeons, especially when you pair it with Saxheel.

215 wpn and spell damage to 11 people isnt weak. Now dungeons it can be weaker than some other options. But still pretty damn good compared to most for 100% uptime

@@skipperg4436 Oh no the wpn and spell damage helps the healers because it buffs their heals. Its only really useless for tanks themselves except for DKs who can use it for engulfing flames since the debuff on egulfing actually needs wpn and spell damage

Atm if I’m not alkosh yolnokrin I’m doing alkosh pearl . They seem to be doing good . I do a lot of pugs and I let them know I’m using alkosh I’m a orc warden so alkosh with about 4.5k weap damage self buffed and in dungeons /trials 5.2k so it works

crimson oath should be worn by the main tank at all times along with tremor. Everyone is wearing medium armor. it is far better to have the tank run armor stripping gear which does not have a distance limit or a limit on how many players it benefits. DPS should be wearing their one bar gear or something like Nirn or whorl healers should wear rojo then spc/pa….then your group will melt

@@ImElysian In theory. In practice for mechanic heavy fights I've never found that to be true. Particularly in Hard modes, or trifecta's. Or in group splits like Dreadsail where you cannot do that or you'll end up wiping the group trying to maintain a buff you can have up 100% of the time. Not saying Aracnist healers wont be a thing. But Yolna is no where close to trash because its uptime and constant buff is still second to none except Pearlescent

It won't be the end of yolnakhrin. Not every group will run an arcanist specifically for that buff. Yoln is still meta and easy to apply. Self and group buffs applied by an ability can easily be forgotten to have reapplied. Where obviously yoln is applied as long as you're doing your job. The statement made in this video is garbage. Run mt arcanist if you don't want to run yoln fine. But you won't see it in every group unless it provides something(s) else that's useful to a group.

I think you’re missing the point. The potential issue isn’t Oakensoul builds not requiring the major courage buff, but Arcanists being able to supply it instead with one skill. So if you have an Arcanist in your group effectively using that skill, Yolo becomes a completely pointless set. So tanks will need to have a good alternative when that situation arises.

Too bad it's not. The amount of trial fights that require seperating people are quite varied. Also the buff is short and not consistent from an Arcanist. Who is not going to get 100% like Yolna can. On super optimized score pushing groups where no one died and they have close to 100% uptime yea arcanist will be better.
