Hi Phil, And thank you for getting back to me. My bottom drain is only a 2 inch feed & i am running an Evoluion Aqua 10,000 varipump but i have only had it on 20%. I think that my bottom drain may be the problem but i really do not know how to rectify the situation. Regards Robert

Hi Aaron it’s a 1” uniseal . They are available from lots of places but bought mine off eBay, just type uniseal in the search engine. Think the 1” is £4.99 but great and easy way to put a pipe through another pipe with no leaks👍😊. Hope this helps👍🐟🈲😊

Phil was just watching back and see u used 11/2 pipe rtn. Ive bought 2 inch rtn pipe and valves. Just assumed that was the size to use. Any major reason why u did it in the 1 1/2” Been a busy few days here bd drain in most block work to water level done like ur tip about pipe in wall before fibreglassing re ressessing it into insulation must rejig that before its too late 🤫😬
@TelfordKoiPond2 жыл бұрын
Evening Aaron👍😊. The reason why I used 1.5” instead of 2” was because I used 1.5” pipe work in my previous pond and knowing I would want a return of around 10,000 litres per hour through 2 primary pipe runs (3 actual returns), 1.5” was more than sufficient plus the, pipe, fittings, ball valves, etc. at 1.5” are slightly cheaper than 2” versions and the Oase pump fittings, Bitron uv and Thermotec ASPH fittings I used are all 1.5”👍😊. Have you checked the fitting size on the pump, uv, filter, etc. you are going to be using? Are they 2” or will you need to reduce to 1.5”?

I am installing the same filter Proficlear Premium compact L and was wondering what those fittings you used were, that connected to the tank with the jubilee clips? I have two bottom drains and a skimmer and didn't really trust the push fit piping but your finish looks good.
@TelfordKoiPond Жыл бұрын
Hello there🖐. Only just seen your comment as it was “held for review” for some reason???. The fittings I used were just the Evolution Aqua rubber fittings….4” straight connectors from the 4”bottom drain to the sleeve on the drum filter and the 4” to 1.5” rubber reducers on the outlet side. I simply doubled up on the jubilee clips to make sure of a secure connection and as the filters are in my filter house, the rubber connectors should never be impacted by uv light😊👍

@RobertBrown-yi9em 2 minutes ago Hi Phil its Robert from Oxford. I am having a bit of trouble setting up my Oase Proficlear Gravity fed drum filter. We have done all of the pipework but when we turn the pump on the water level in the filter box drops 4/5 inches. Is this suppose to happen. I have not yet added the Helux media. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. I have done a manual clean & that seems to be working ok. Regards Robert
@TelfordKoiPond Жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, There is a dramatic drop in your drum filter when yo turn on the pumps but the amount of drop will be determined by the power of the pull from your pumps. I run 2 pumps after my drum and they have a combined pull of 12,000 litres per hour, when I turn them on the water drops by 3 inches. I have a 4” bottom drain and 1.5” skimmer line feeding my pump. As long as you have similar there shouldn’t be any issue. If you are pulling 20,000 lph or above you will see a big drop in your filter chamber. What size feeds do you have and what pull are you running?
