Make a cilinder from a filter mat. Put an air stone at the bottom or a waterpump at the top. Done! The pump doesn't have to run 24/7 because the filtermaterial is constant in the water exposed to oxygen.

Well done Jamie. Almost there. Let's the fun begin! May be add one or 2 fish in the pond now, add the media and the pond should start it's cycle. Exciting!

Nice filter, do your neighbours have any issue with the noise? Noticed you had it sound proofed a little. I’m stressing about the noise my produces in the night. Great vids
@keepingitkoi Жыл бұрын
I literally asked my neighbour last week he said he'd never even heard it so didn't know it ran like it does so that's a bonus but yeh the filter house does have 50mm and 75mm insulation in it 👍
@richardc19832 жыл бұрын
The air is either air that was in the pipes and needs bleeding off or is probably being sucked in from the section where your aerating it in the drum filter. Try turning the air off and then if you slightly loose off the top nut on the valve above the suction intake on the pump it's a good way to get the air out otherwise it will keep on cavitating. Try it with the air off in the drum to see if makes a difference. All that air will be in efficient and knacker your impeller.
@keepingitkoi2 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud yeh I managed to sort it weren't sure where it was coming from but wacking the pump up to 100% sorted it instantly 👍
@richardc19832 жыл бұрын
@@keepingitkoi on mine I have to unscrew the top nut and slow the pump down or it just continues to cavitate. Glad you've sorted it and your pond is looking great. What flow do you think you've got going through your skimmer and bottom drain roughly?
@keepingitkoi2 жыл бұрын
@@richardc1983 well the pump is pulling 15k lph but I don't know what the flow is individually through each one 🤔

Hi Jamie , good video , quick question just set pond up , got the Oase drum filter , got given a tub of bio kick filter starter , was going to leave everything running for couple of weeks before we think of getting any fish , when would you suggest I put the bio kick in , was told by someone not till I get fish , but thought it would be better to add now , to give the bacteria time to settle in , any help would be much appreciated 😊
@keepingitkoi4 ай бұрын
No you shouldn't add it until the fish are in as bacteria needs food to live and without fish there's no food so if you was to some how get bacteria in your system without fish by adding some ammonia from somewhere it will die within days without a regular food source. Hope that makes sense 👍😊

To be honest it doesn't matter where you have them as long as you have them as where ever they are they will prevent water from getting back to the pump theyve been there for nearly 3 years while on my fish tank 👍 but thanks for the advice bud

Hi Jamie, according to "er indoors" a table spoon of ketchup in the dogs food stopes their urine burning the grass, whether it works?🤓
