I have another new instrument cluster display that just released on the market. Many of you have asked for a smaller screen that will not block the air vents and I think I have found the solution. What I really like about this display is the minimalist design that fits right into the steering column. You will not see any dangling power cords as this is all hidden after installation.

This mini display will show an array of data points including, MPH, time, temperature, speed limit, drive status, state of charge and few others. I’m going to show you how to install this display and the connections are all plug and play. It’s really not too difficult. Looking at the box, there's only two items, the mini display with the built in column cover with the matching paint from the OEM column cover and also the power cord that will mimic what your main tesla screen shows.

There are 2 types of UI interfaces, the first one will show on the left hand side your follow distance and state of charge and the second interface will show the PSI on your tires and move the state of charge to the right side of the screen. I prefer to see interface number 1 as the PSI can gauge seems a little overwhelming on the screen. To change these settings just press and hold the right scroll wheel to the right. When holding it to the right the settings menu will appear. From here you can set your time zone, the theme from auto which will change to dark at night or white during the daytime. Also you can set it to permanent dark or white. Finally we can change the settings from Kph or Mph and change the language. Once all these settings are complete, we just scroll to the top right arrow and push in the right scroll wheel to save the settings.
I think the best part of this mini display is that it will not block the air flow and I’m gonna repeat that, it will not block the air flow. I like the air blowing at my face and I can assure you the vent is slightly higher up than this display and it will flow right over the top of it. The screen is the perfect size to see a good amount of information but yet will not block any airflow.
Now is this instrument screen for everyone, no. This is for someone who would like to see an array of data points right below the steering wheel. While also giving it that OEM look as it is built right into the steering column. I’m hoping over time this will come with a software update to show the live video of turn signals. Again any new updates I hear about, I will post in the comments below.

I installed this and really like it. For those with concerns about polarized glasses, the screen comes with a thin, clear protective film on it. With the film on there are no issues with polarized glasses. So, I just left the protective film on.

Can it show side cameras when I indicate the turn (blind spot cameras)?

Great video. Not for me because I hate that constant startup animation. Too bad that can’t be disabled. Also, thanks for pointing out the issue with polarized sunglasses. I doubt anyone else would have noticed to showcase that.

A new car should probably incude a safe display. Adding a a cheap Amazon display is easy, but still a kludge.

I installed the same screen in a 2018 Model 3 LR and the tire pressure doesn't display. Does your tire pressure display correctly?

Super helpful thanks. The onlybsad part is that putting back the screen plug and i took me forever like an hour until i decided to hop on my driver side and put my head under the glovebox to make sure i can insert this damn socket. But over all it is satisfying to see an upgrade and see you car nicer that before.👍

I have the same steering column phone mount you have Evan and I dig it. However, I really do like driving at night with the only light source coming from the main screen. It really allows me to see the road extremely well. These instrument clusters seem like too much of a distraction in more ways than one. But thank you for the review.

I1 Tesla did a review of this as well and I was considering it, but after you revealed the issue with the polarized sunglasses I will pass. So happy you mentioned that and saved me some disappointment as a result. Perhaps Hansshow will address that in a future revision.

It’s a standard range plus. That’s excellent degradation stats. Practically none at all.

It shows 119 miles at 52% and 112 miles at 49%. So 233 total range. Is that projecting max range on the highway, or mixed highway/city driving? I hear it uses about 4% per floored quarter mile run, or about 6 miles range when floored, so I’m guessing 233 miles is on cruise control at 55 mph. He seems to be driving pretty slowly.
