I recently changed the original Tesla filters after three years of use (21,000 miles). Wife complained of smells. I was very surprised how much crud was on the filters: dirt, small straw, grasses, even small bird feathers. It immediately made me think of adding some kind of filter at the vent intake, just window screen if nothing else. I plan to try the foam filter. Is there any recommendation on how often the filter should be changed

@JB-ej2qy6 күн бұрын
Main reason I won’t buy a Tesla because Elon is so cheap. No reason home-link is not preinstalled. 🙄
@Clubrhythm5 күн бұрын
I know, right. Start looking closely at the wheels of Teslas manufactured after Elon removed the ultrasonic sensors from the bumpers. In my area all the newer Teslas have serious curb rash on the rims. I too learned this lesson the hard way unfortunately. I have a MX with sensors and a MY without and I pity the fool that uses auto park on the MY. I assumed (incorrectly) that TeslaVision was as least as good as the sensors….it ain’t.

MyQ is technically free using the mobile application directly however vehicle integration is what they make you subscribe for. So if you are setup with MyQ already aside from the vehicle you can open your garage door with the app. for free it's just not as seamless, I prefer the home link upgrade it's just a tight hand squeeze.

After watching the TailwindIQ setup and function...no...no its not. TailwindIQ >myQ. Apples to Apples. Homelink is not wifi dependant or phone dependant. Compare apples to apples Michael. A simple google / youtube video search shows how the setup is complex for TailwindIQ and depends on certian factors to turn your garage opener into a smart garage. It will not be as smart as you think, go watch the videos. Having to "accept" terms and conditions in order to do anything is troubling to say the least, especially when all you want to do is open your garage door. Homelink is self contained and 100% compatible with any RF operated garage door. Add Tesla's UI and you have an automated door...its that simple. Not terms of use, not data sharing required, no 24/7 tracking via your phone( which is a battery drain btw).

@@EMtesla1Excellent DIY project for those so inclined and as mentioned, the most changeling time consuming part is attaching that bracket however it's best to do it properly rather than Velcro or a zip tie etc. I am thinking in the factory this kind of installation is performed by a human installer prior to that body panel being installed so that the bracket installs in seconds. I love how you can activate or code new or replaced hardware directly through the service menu, with most other auto manufacturers they made you get a special external computer or bring it into a factory authorized shop. MyQ cost $45.00 a year. If you lease your Tesla for 3 years you spend $135.00 for MyQ. Homelink costs from your eBay link $170.00 plus tax. For a person leasing their Tesla MyQ may be a much better choice and you don't have to take your car apart. BTW I use MyQ and pay the annual fee. @@MrDksmall Yes. Either Wi-Fi is built into the garage door opener or you purchase a bridge from somebody to adapt the garage door to Wi-Fi. A good start. But if you REALLY want to measure air quality, you have to measure the PRIMARY cause of bad air in cars -- car pollution & exhaust from other cars. To measure that, you need to measure CO, CO2, Ozone, and NO2. Otherwise, you are missing the boat. It's so important, invest in quality air monitors and test the TESLA this way.
