The suspension and the soundproofing were probably the two biggest complaints with the previous model, so it's good to see Tesla addressing them. The bump in range is also nice, but official figures should still be taken with a grain of salt. On the negative side, steering wheel mounted turn signal capacitive buttons are a downgrade. At least make them real clicky buttons.

One of the reasons I didn't wait for this refresh was the lack of stalks - in the UK with the number of roundabouts we have, and the fact that you're constantly having to signal while turning the wheel means stalks are a huge necessity. Everything else is actually a nice upgrade.

@samthecar The car's software has a parking view that uses the car's camera to give you a warning to close obstacles. This used to be done with ultrasonic sensors which were super accurate, but more expensive to build into the car. Now it uses the car's cameras, but the front window camera can't see over the bumper well so it's currently not as accurate as the old sensors.

@@Cell4TR I would be surprised, because that defeats the whole point of a horn, which is to alert people of your presence and that causes a significant delay in doing so. In reality, it doesn't matter if it takes an extra 5-15 seconds to sort out climate control or to move the wheel that one time you need to change the position. A horn though, needs to be used quickly. I'm also going to guess there are laws that require it to be positioned on the steering wheel.

@@purwantiallan5089 Even the original Model 3 from 6 years ago handled in a much superior manner, like night and day compared to a Honda Accord. It had more room in the trunk, an additional frunk, and more headroom, shoulder room and leg room. And lets not talk about acceleration, LOL! The Accord was a great car in it's day, and it had the right form factor to be very practical, but it was nothing like a Model 3. It was not as safe in an impact either. I recommend not judging a book by its cover. If you had ever owned both cars you would understand just how different they are. And that's saying a lot, because the Accord was not a bad car.

Tesla hasn't been an innovator since the original Model 3. The reason why "a company with so much money is being cheap": their executive is siphoning Tesla cash to fund his destruction of X. The rest of the board members really need to kick Musk out to get the company back on track. If you haven't noticed Tesla is starting to circle the drain - they can still turn this around if they get rid of Musk sooner rather than later though.

loving all the improvements and changes they made on this new model besides the removal of stocks on the wheel. I’ve heard the lack of physical buttons is something that is really missed when buying a tesla and for them to remove even more physical attributes will be interesting to see. Still no HUD either, maybe one day but I feel like a HUD would improve the driving experience of this car a ton.

HUD is one thing I don't miss, the buttons, also not so much. The whole car is pretty much set up electronically to whoever is the driver and all the settings change when drivers change. HOWEVER... one thing I do hate is lack of real sensors. A major complaint from me and others is Tesla's removal of USS parking sensors a year ago. It's my biggest gripe with the car. The stalks I haven't driven without before, but I do like physical buttons for that. Overall.... still one of the best cars you can get in this price range.

The previous models front view looked weak and awkward, now thankfully addressed. New taillights fix that problem to. Wish they had incorporated a small binnacle with basic information in front of driver position instead of having to take eyes of road and scroll around on centre screen. Also, need some form of manual/non-electric reliant door opening function due now some reports of fire hazards causing power failure and inability to open doors etc. Agree, like the gun metal grey colour.

Generally very nice improvements! But compared to the current M3 RWD, I will miss the stalks for sure, they’re great for transitioning from a gas car past, I’m not joking, The stalks are actually practical for signalling left or right turns. Most of us would have already learned to drive using such stalks and now you will momentarily struggle to work that out. Relearning our muscle memories etc can be challenging in an emergency situation. Operating wipers with stalks is really natural, some will not know what they will be missing in the new model 3. I would not appreciate the perforated seats although it great for ventilations, the reasons are like in a Honda Jazz, these little holes trap dirt etc and soon enough you will SEE all these holes visibly with dirty appearances. Better springs and bushes etc to reduce road vibrations are great to have for sure. It’s not a real issue in the current M3. A larger tire might have other issues as in MY, has the turning radius been affected ? 19” tires will cost more, for sure to replace and availability issues, unfortunately. ( Still no spare wheel for puncture) The range, well, I wouldn’t take too much to heart what Tesla claimed, in real world operations it will definitely less much less.😂 Yup, buy a Tesla, any Tesla you fancy! These are great cars to drive!

Cleaning your car more often might help with the dirt :) I have had several cars with perforated leather and yes sometimes particles get trapped but I would say there were like 4-5 per car that didn't come out after a good round with a vacuum cleaner. I would say that perfo leather is a non issue for a reasonably clean owner. Not letting people eat in the car helps also and yes, you can tell your children not to do it either.

it would be mainly to reduce the number of physical part for the assembly process (also minimises breaking points), allow the car to be more software than hardware dependent (easier to update, personalise or modify), it also makes their fleet future proof; when robotaxi is functional, they will just have to write a line code to make sure that passengers aren't messing with the buttons. You're not used to it today but humans are exceptionally good at learning and adapting... we are going through a paradigm shift so the concept of software led car is still foreign but in 5 years, it will be a non issue for most of the population... because we're quite good at forming habits to help us with the things we do often. On a different note, to compare the price of an electric vehicle, you should look at the whole lifespan of it, how much you paid in total divided by the distance or time the vehicle was functional. EVs are a new tech so it's normal to have a higher tag price, but despite that, they are cheaper to run and maintain and last longer. they can only get cheaper... unless the government interferes in that natural progression

I have to disagree. The interior, better touch screen, ventilated and heated seats.... Most importantly almost 100 extra miles in range from the 2023 model. It is a huge upgrade! I will definitely hold out and wait for this next year!

No-stalks is definitely a cost cutting measure. Not sure how I'd feel about them. I feel I might hit these extra buttons around the thumb wheels accidently. Not sure if I like the new "face" of the car either. The X and S had the "same face" and so did the 3 and Y. We should probably expect the Y to get the same facelift.
