Just picked up my M3LR AWD on Saturday. Unique situation. I had ordered before the 1.99 was offered but they were able to assign the VIN to a new Order Number with the 1.99 financing. Just had to wait for them to move over the down payment I had already paid and the Bank to approve the new loan. Everything was able to be achieved in a span of 4-5 hours. In case anyone in a similar situation!

@@mattflickinger8151 Depends on the chemistry. LFP doesn't mind as much being full charged. But NMC chemistry is more sensitive to it. That would be one advantage to having a larger battery with more range. You could charge to 80% and still have a pretty significant amount of range.

I suggest an Osborne effect is responsible for some lack of demand for Tesla EVs. Some of the market awaits existing model updates, while to be EV owners await the Model 2. Additionally the used EV market has more and cheaper models than ever before. All are factors effecting new EV demand.

I would not expect a full refresh until at least a year after the model Y refresh is released. Also the model X is sub $100K even with the Plaid (unless you are in Canada or other countries possibly).

The current deals aren't good, it's best to wait. They've raised the price of the MY since May, and the promo APR isn't as good. My guess is the end of the year is going to be the best time to buy. As far as the robotaxi goes, it's irrelevant when it's unveiled because FSD is years away from being truly autonomous. Tesla should've of focused on a combo robotaxi / cheaper vehicle, so growth could resume quicker.

Charge power is literally irrelevant. What matters is miles per hour or miles per minute charging. Cybertruck can charge with big kW ratings because it has a big battery smaller batteries may take same c rate charging but nit get close to the kW rate

Hey Ryan, I like your channel. I’ve owned my model Y for two years. I live in a state where they’re only two “dealerships” (New Mexico), which is one of the biggest states in the lower 48. This means that the service centers are extremely over busy and difficult to make timely appointments. Do you know of any information about them adding more service centers in this state and or others? TBH, it kind of makes me want to sell because of the lack of customer service/service.

The problem is cheaper cars (used mostly for shorter distance) don’t need more range and faster charging! The S/X are not competitive anymore when it comes to charging and even VW offers 800V super fast charging in their new Q6 and A6 models (competitor to Model Y)

If Tesla would include their auto insurance I think many potential buyers would sign up. For example for folks that pay cash and don't qualify for the $7500, it would be nice to get something to push us over. It's worth understanding that labor is only 5-10% the cost of a car, to really save money to get to that affordable EV you need to dramatically reduce material costs which is how China was able to do it. So moving it to mexico only saves that 5-8% or so on labor at most

You screwed that totally up. Final assembly is 7%-10% of the cost of a car, but final assembly is only a small fraction of all the labor involved in making a car. When total labor is included from mining and processing raw materials into a useful form. Building all the sub assemblies and deliverying them to the assembly plants. When all told total labor costs are over half the cost of a vehicle.

Tesla should stop announcing and or other letting the public what the next model is. We are waiting to buy the next model Yp when it comes out. There are no incentives that would sway us. It will be our second Tesla and we are not selling or trading our 2023 so we are not in a hurry. It is probable that we would have already ordered a new model Yp months ago if we didn’t know about the Juniper. We sold our Ford Everest as we knew when the refreshed model 3 was just about to be produced that the Model Yp would soon follow. The time line is a little longer than we anticipated but we still have two cars in the garage for the two drivers as we have a 11 year Ford Fiesta that my wife was going to give to her sister. Although it is easy to see that most automotive manufacturers are having a slow period, Tesla’s slump would not be as flat if we were not waiting for a model that we knew about as soon as they announce the Highland. Maybe in the future when they have two such similar cars in the lineup that will delay until they can produce them both. (Like today’s smaller CyberTruck and a Full SiZE one.

If Ford can't make money on expensive EVs, then how in the world do they make money on low-cost EVs???? Low cost ICS vehicles don't make nearly the profit their higher cost options do. So how does Ford invert tis for EVs? Answer. They don't. That's like saying incentives don't help. In real life it does. People that couldn't afford $50k but can afford $45 can buy one. The difference seems negligible but its in fact less. Because on a 1.99% loan over 5yrs you'll save nearly ~$5k in interest over a loan at 5.99%. And don't forget federal incentive of $7.5k and maybe state incentives too that's a savings of $12-15k.

The dry cathode batteries (promised years ago) will not only be cheaper and quicker to produce. But far cleaner. Because the wet slurry coating process uses toxic materials, made worse by curing them, which produces toxic gasses. One of the key advantages of EVs over gas-only vehicles is that there is room for steady improvement over time. All vehicles (including EVs) have shortcomings. But through advancements in technology, from mining, refining, battery tech, clean-renewable energy production, and recycling, EVs will continue to become cleaner and safer. Whereas gas-only powered vehicles are about as good as they are going to get. The improved 4680s are a good step in that direction, and they will inspire competition from other battery manufacturers, which will in turn produce better, cheaper, cleaner batteries.

Now new EV companies are eating their lunch and they whine about it. To this very day, they still cannot adjust to being EV makers. I don’t care about their profits. They are dinosaurs fixated on an outdated technology and decided to fall in line with big oil instead of the environment. If they can’t make money selling EVs they are doomed to not exist in the future. It is their strategic failure. The only solution they have is to eliminate the competition (ICE cars) they are continuing to promote and sell - but that won’t happen. Instead China will succeed in selling inexpensive high quality BYD EVs in the U.S.. The only company that could possibly compete is Tesla. No other EV player is large enough to matter.

I would personally hold that attitude BUT people who lease their cars should consider a 72 month buy as it is twice the length of a lease, lower payments, and one would own the car at the end. Plus a Tesla extended warranty is 72 months from new... lining up perfectly with that length of loan.

EV rebates hurt tesla. Tesla can make cars cheaper than anyone else but hybrids and EVs from others get the rebate and enable them to succeed with cars they cannot make cheap enough.

Tesla scammed me on the 1.99%. they make you lose your $250 down payment just to rework the payment options. mine will be ready Friday or Saturday.....Tesla has very poor customer service...you can't talk with nobody and the chat was only AI so I had to drive to the showroom 45 miles away to get any additional help...

Only a fool would finance a car for 3 years. Why would you spend your money in a short time when you can stretch it and invest it in some other things. To give you an example: why would you pay cash $50,000 on something when you can pay it in 5 years even with 2% APR, and invest your money which could earn you 50% or more annually (ex: stock market)? Paying a car in 3 years is just as good as paying it cash. You think you are smart, not really.

Just wanted to say that even if Trump gets elected and the tax incentive is done away with, individual states are likely to keep their incentives, so all will not be lost. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tesla cut its prices if Trump wins. The EV industry is here to stay regardless of who gets elected. 😊😊😊

Tesla spent too much money on zero profit projects like FSD and RoboTaxi and that's the only reason they don't have fresh product to sell. They are stuck in sunk cost bias now and can't seem to cut their loses. Waymo is the best and is still losing almost a billion in operating. The projections on how much people would use public transportation were way over estimated. People who use cars don't just use them for pre planned point to point trips. For some car owners that's a very small percentage of how they use the car.

We're nerds so it's still interesting to play with but not something I would use much even if it worked better. It gives me a chance to rest my leg on long trips but normal cruise control does that.
