I own a model y & like Tesla vehicles , but the whole NO CONTROLS is just stupid , I go to several outdoor events where you park in a field , I head to lakeside camping spots with no roads , how is a only self driving car supposed to know where I want to park at a no painted gravel road at beach or a grass field at an air show ( just add controls , if people don’t want to use them so be it ) but I can think of 100’s of time I would want to take over driving

The doors will make the CyberCab more practical in dense urban settings. Doors that swing out can get hit by bicycles, other vehicles and curbs. Some have criticized the rear wheel well covers as making tire replacement very difficult. Not if it has air suspension that can lift the cab well above the wheels.

You always say that the $7500 tax rebate isn't available for Model 3's other than the performance model. However, it is also available when you lease. Together with the trade-in of my 2019 Model 3, the $7500 rebate made leasing the 2004 model a no brainer.

Why don’t you do a video on why Tesla Model 3 Performance models haven’t shipped yet! From what I know, only one US customer has received delivery of their M3P and it’s almost June! 🤷🏽‍♂️. My estimated delivery was scheduled May 23rd - June 3rd and just today it was pushed out to June 14 - June 30th and I ordered the very first day within 1 hr after release and I live near the Fremont factory! I cannot remember where I heard it but on Wednesday or Thursday at a Tesla service center a customer was told that they were still waiting for the NTHSB was still in the process of approving the M3P and that approval should be completed by Sunday or tomorrow. I love my FSD level 3. It does a great job but U turns are difficult cuz the wheel must turn 2 1/2 times vs Cybertruck a quarter turn. I can see why electric steering is important and Tesla holding off in FSD on the truck

The F150 lightnings are pretty popular with city utilities, maintenance and other contractors as well, likely due to there being a cheap option at 50k vs 61k for the CT and it has more power plugs, better outside lighting, service is quicker and a "plain" apperance. All that combined kinda makes sense why it would be picked over a CT which in the end is closer to an enthusiast truck.

Ask your insurer what they would charge for a robotaxi. And if you are self-insured because you own so many taxis, ask your state regulators if they would even allow a robotaxi to be licensed for use on a public road. Nuh uh. Robotaxis, at least in the US and EU, aren't going to happen until they can pass a road test, just like a human driver must.

The new model 3 performance actually gets better range than old one. The EPA test was changed since the old model to be more strict. The long range Y dropped from 330 to 310 miles or something just from that change. Same car.

Anyone who has used FSD has to be VERY skeptical of a robotaxi. I used FSD for a month and it REALLY cannot drive without a LOT of human intervention.

Interesting. We had it for the one month trial as well. In our case interventions were limited. In one case the car did not recognize a right turn onto a protected lane (there is a “Keep moving” sign). Since the light was red the car stopped momentarily before proceeding as would normally be the case for a right turn on red.

It is just not a practicl concept. Friend and I left from nearby areas to get to Dallas Union Station. FSD dutifully routed him via the same route. I drove myself. Nearing downtown where our paths would have converged, I learned of full stop traffic issue on freeway, and rerouted to side streets. I made the train. FSD got him trapped in a 45 minute full stop. He had to drive like a bat out of Hell to the next city 60 miles away to catch the train. I will continue to place my faith & trust in the tried and proven MK I Mod O Human Brain. And save $15K. Or $8K. Or whatever. And be able to pul over for a pisscall when I want.

some good content in this video ....the current presentation of the robotaxi idea is of course incomplete and mysterious....but one has to think there's no way they would spend billions and possibly risk the entire corporation over a venture involving producing vehicles seating only 2 people with no steering wheel and pedals and thus zero way to take over or maneuver the car when there's a breakdown / accident / unforeseen road situation / run out of charge / etc......and of course how would these cars be charged and what will be done when they inevitably run into problems on the road.....this is so far shaping up to be the worst idea in decades....but then again so far we have very little information......and we should remind ourselves that August 8 is purely a little presentation...with production likely a number of years away....example - Roadster...revealed 2017.....still zero cars in 2024........robotaxi is probably a concept .

Even if a prototype car is presented Aug 8, we know -- based on Musk's long track record of overpromising and underdelivering, combined with repeated errors in execution of business plans -- that it will be many years before a car like this is available for use. I think it is better to present Tesla information and updates based on what already exists in the real world. Many YT channels devoted to Tesla spend far too much time on Musk's promises and on rumors from unknown sources. The vast, overwhelming majority of these promises and rumors never see the light of day.
