We prefer this function to be used as a test for CTR and not for watch time. Measuring watch time is equivalent to the question "Does this thumbnail congruent with what's going on in the video or it is a clickbait?" as a creator, I rather know if my Thumbnail is attracting the audience on the homepage or the suggestion column. and the way it is done right now is not answering this problem.

It's great to get the watchtime from the test, and I understand why this is what you focused on. Still, I would love to also see the CTR for each thumbnail. Sometimes you want to test very similar thumbnails, that won't affect the watchtime, but definetly the CTR.

This is very cool indeed! I just generated 3 thumbnails for this Saturday's video on Darth Vader vs Yoda. I took all the advice in this video under consideration and really leaned heavy into highlighting differing contrasts. This is going to be a fun experiment! This is such an amazing tool. Unfortunately, I feel like the technology is completely wasted on my channel. Watch time is not a problem for me. The watch time in the test almost ALWAYS comes out within 1% of each other. PLEASE! I'M BEGGING YOU! PLEASE allow us the option of choosing test results based on CLICK THROUGH RATE! This is the metric that I need to choose a thumbnail. If you don't want the thumbnail to be chosen because of that, please at least give us that metric. That way we can manually change it if we want to. Thank you for considering this. I know I can't be the only one who wants to determine a thumbnail based on CTR, not WT.

thats why it gives you watch time rather than CTR. CTR means nothing when the Reach is higher. The higher the Reach, the lower teh CTR but the audience satisfaction should be the balance.

@@dalsifilms On the question mark it says: "By selecting based on watch time share, the winning thumbnail is the one that gets viewers to both click and stay to watch. Additionally, KZbin’s search and discovery systems consider both when ranking videos." So it counts both CTR and watch time. Whatever makes the video satisfaction higher by adding both metrics, gets you a winning thumbnail. I understand what you are saying though. It should count percentage viewed of a video as well.
