The Rockets were destress Rockets (basically an early form of flare) but they were not a standard thing at the time, so the Californian (the closest ship to the Titanic) assumed that they were fireworks.

I would like one with a bunch of AI crowding the decks to simulate the confusion, chaos, and reactions of the people on board. I feel it would also make it harder. I also think starting from within the ship as either a crew member or passenger in their respective proper locations would add some sense of reality to it. Who would he on the promenade decks at 11:40pm?

Also to answer you about all lifeboats getting off, all life boats got off of Titanic, but the two forward collapsible lifeboats had "some" trouble getting off, by that I mean collapsible B launched upside-down after falling from its storing place on top of the officers quarters and later sunk; collapsible A launched right side up after falling from on top of the officers quarters but was half-flooded since they did not have enough time to get the gunwales (sides of the lifeboat) up before the water reached the bridge and either sunk or was recovered later. All other lifeboats made it off safely. Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to let you know after hearing you ask about this in this video.

@@abandonedaccount123 No, several people were picked up from the water by a life boat but died later from hypothermia. There was also at least one lifeboat that suffered from flooding. There was a pro athlete named Richard Williams who almost lost his legs due to the cold water.

3:05-To answer your question, yes, those actually were distress flares. They were trying to signal to any nearby ship., as there were lights of another ship on the horizon. However, it couldn’t reach them. It was stuck by ice.

"Does our character know how to swim?" That wouldn't have mattered much - the water was absolutely frigid, at 28 degrees. At that temperature, most of the people in the water simply froze to death within minutes. As to whether they got all of the lifeboats away from the ship, most of them were launched, but the final two collapsibles had to be floated off, as there simply wasn't time - the final plunge was starting by that point, which lasted several minutes at most.

The fire works are actually distress rockets for any ships nearby to come and rescue passengers on the titanic but none did they morse code some ppl say there was a ship closer then the Carpathia wich is the ship that rescued the survivors

Ironic thing is if they hit it head on they would have been more likely to survive. They had rudders too small for a ship it's size which several limited it's abilities to steer away from the iceberg

Actually, that's just an urban legend: hitting the iceberg head on would have been far more catastrophic than what happened in real life: - Hitting a massive, solid wall of ice that was several times as heavy as Titanic itself, with near full speed (about 20 knots) would have sent down a massive shock wave throughout the entire length of the ship, causing catastrophic damage everywhere on Titanic not just the bow. Steel plating would have given up and fall apart all over the ship (remember, this ship was built with riveting, not welding like modern ones), which would have resulted in a much faster sinking scenario (with holes all over the hull, it could be as bad as 30 minutes instead of the 2 hours 40 minutes that happened in real life) - Passengers and crew alike would have suffered serious injuries due to the unexpected crash, and with the latter being seriously injured, the effort to launch the lifeboats would have been much much slower (not to mention that injured people would have to be treated otherwise they die of their injuries rather than of the icy water). Many would have probably died of their injuries before any kind of rescue effort could arrive - The impact could have very possibly caused the cables of the telegraph machine to snap, resulting it not being able to receive any messages (this actually happened in the case of Britannic), so the crew would have no way of telling if anyone is coming to help them or not. What would have been even worse, is the possibility of the telegraph device becoming unusable completely, thus the ship would have no way to send any signals for help which in the end would have caused the death of all passengers and crew because even the ones would managed to get into any boats would probably have died in the cold night before any ship came around to find them (if they would even find them the next day, but it is possible that no one would be looking for them for days until they start suspecting why the ship didn't give any life signs for so long) All in all, a head on collision would have been worse, much worse
