I love how you take your time and think through both your options and your opponent's potential moves. It has helped me slow down and be methodical. I really enjoy your calm, respectful demeanor.

That’s the key to improving, to really look at all your options AND your opponents threats. It’s so easy to become lazy and just blast out moves without thinking too much

Yes, Ben is massively knowledgeable and entertaining and Levy has energy and skill too but Nelson is by far the most INSTRUCTIVE. Best channel for improvement by a mile.

It’s helpful to me to see how you handle your frustration… I don’t always manage it as well as you seem to. But it’s helpful to know it happens to everyone.

Watching how you deal with your frustrating losses and react to them (like you got up for 2 mins and walked away) reminds me I gotta get a lot of maturity and humility with my ego (especailly since I'm a way lower ELO than you). I just tilt, analyze my game, say "that's bullshit. obviously i blundered here" or "stupid timetrouble" and then boot up another game to "make up" the loss (clearly, this doesn't go well since playing angry is a recipe for disaster) I surprisingly watched the whole vid which felt like it flew by in 20 mins.

Thank you for your videos. I enjoy the way you explain thing and letting us guess next best moves. I really like Gotham and Hikaru, but the way you highlight the squares of opponents moves and letting us guess is very helpful.

In the 1st game, black's a6 opening was an opening used by magnus carlson. The goat horn defense 😄 or whatever it is.

That game against stellar was painful to watch. I was screaming at my phone, bring out the rook!!! But I get it. Sometimes when you are in the middle of the game with the clock ticking you just don’t see things that end up seeming obvious.

This opening is actually the goat horn opening Magnus is playing it currently. With the d5 move it kind of transposes in a caro kann defense.
